Uh, that's EXACTLY how it is...as long as you follow the AUP, you can post where you like.

No matter if you're accused of trolling or not right?

I leave that to the MODS...(03-shhhh Trolling is in the AUP)

Which is why I also said more moderation at the beginning of this fiasco would have headed off a lot of the problem. But if trolling is in the AUP you are not following it when you troll, whether or not it is enforced. And your statement was "as long as you follow the AUP..." So, these AAC posters will continue to push the limits till they are called out and removed. They wouldn't consider policing themselves just for common courtesy. Funniest part? As soon as someone gets removed, they will be the first ones crying that the mods here are too sensitive, they didn't do anything wrong, etc etc.

Just the fact that one of our posters had to preemptively move a thread to the smack board, that was directed to the fanbase of a CUSA school, says volumes about the infestation here. Bama should not have had to do that to a thread marked "Marshall fans" in the subject. And all you guys can think to do is look for loopholes to be ********.

The fact we're still here is proof there has been no trolling...07-coffee3

And yet you are still here begs to the question of "WHY"...Unless you actually have a game with a current CUSA school then you have no reason what-so-ever. But you and about 10 ECUites interject in just about every thread. That's TROLLING. And the reason I have you and about 90% of the ECUers on IGNORE.

I'd imagine Marshall fans feel similar to UCONN fans. I'm mostly disappointed to not play schools we had a long history with.

...Although the worst part is having to deal with trolling from those who received a "golden ticket." 03-banghead

So, for instance, Pitt and WVU fans still come to your board and rub their imaginary supremacy in your faces? Yeah it sucks. And the ones here really only received a non-precious metal ticket. Maybe an aluminum ticket.

That's why there is no logic to us being envious of them. There's no difference on the field, with us maybe a touch better top to bottom. There's minimal difference in base revenue. Obviously getting a NCAA tourney championship and the last BCS bowl holdover slot made for a nice payday, but the basic package is roughly equivalent. Certainly not anything to obsess over compared to P5 money. And you can say this about every G5 conference. Revenue dips a little more in some cases, but most of the top teams from each conference could beat the top teams from the others in most years. Imaginary gradient is imaginary.

I completely understand why the 1st 4 in Houston, UCF, SMU and Memphis took the gamble. The ground was shaky but at that time it was still the BE, a decent TV contract and an auto bid.

What Ive never understood and never will is why ECU and Tulane took off when the BCS spot had already been yanked and the rumbling of the basketball schools was headed out the door. It was exactly 15 hours after ECU and Tulane joined that the basketball schools announced they had no intentions of staying. Was it a coincidence they announced that soon after ECU and Tulane accepted that the basketball schools said see ya. It may or may not have been.

And well Tulsa leaving was mind boggling. They left after ECU and Tulane and knew nothing was going to change.

The base money from 1.8 to 1.2 isn't all that much and would have very little impact on anything. Ive said it before and will continue to say it. The AACk is the most unstable NP5 conference there is. My guess is if UConn and Cincy do not find a home in the ACC/B12 in the next 5 years or so they stick their Olympic sports in the BE and try to go at it indy in football. Both schools basketball comes 1st.

No one at Marshall really cared about SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Tulane or even Memphis. Those schools gone for most Marshall fans was a wash. ECU maybe for some, me Ehhh. A lot of their fans hated CUSA to begin with and thought that they deserved the final BE spot that VA Tech got in 1991. So for me it was take'm or leave'm.

We didn't have to pay anything to leave, and basketball is way better, so it made perfect sense from our perspective.

RE: Marshall, do your fans really feel this way?
The OP asks a thought provoking question. From my perspective, I never really felt that we were in the conversation for a move, and I don't recall very many of our fans pining away for a move to any other conference. Sure, I miss ECU in the conference, but was happy for them when they went to AAC with a football only invite. I know they wanted it. But that does NOT translate to any jealousy for them getting an invite. I think we are where we belong...in a southern oriented division of a very fine conference.

As for me, this is one happy Marshall fan. I like C-USA in its current iteration. Without disrespect to ANY of our fan friendly East Division mates, I am only sad that UAB and Southern Miss are going to the west, apparently, only because we have 8 years of history with them.
