If I had the good sense to just use a coin flip to make my ACC Coastal picks, I'd be a contender.

I realize Miami is at home and shut out VT, but how are the Canes now 17 point favorites over UNC? If I bet I'd be taking the Heels plus 17.

The people who set the point spreads don't care if ECU is better than Miami. They only care how bettors across the country will perceive them. They want exactly half the bettors to pick UNC, and they are trying to figure out how many points it will take to accomplish that result. Folks on this site are likely to have a different view of ECU than some guy in Denver or St Louis.

What I know I is that if Miami is giving -17 on Thursday night, that will be "low-hanging" fruit for Maestro's Triple Play on Friday.

Ain't no way Miami is 17 points better than the Tar Heels this week.

In a game with an over/under of 70.5, it's a lot easier to imagine a spread of 17 points than in a game with an over/under of 35. FWIW, I'd probably take the "over" on this one.

I agree, I jumped all over this line! Heels usually play well against Miami. I figure worst case, Miami rushes for 450 yards and keeps the ball 45 minutes and grind the game down so it is low scoring, thus making it more difficult to cover the 17 point spread.

Miami dropping 47 on the Heels. Not surprising.

UNC only scoring 14 offensive points on Miami. I did not see that coming.

The cheating scandal and the extra academic scrutiny on the players is taking its toll. Also some of the students have turned on the athletes due to the bad publicity toward the UNC-Ch degree. It wont affect a UNC grad with a degree in Business, Chem, Biology, etc., but it stands to negatively affect some social sciences that already have bad job prospects. It will get worse and worse on them before it starts to get better.
