RE: OT: NFL Twitter Fan Map
No huge surprises. The closest team tends to dominate in most places and teams with a greater history of success have a farther reach. There are random pockets of Steelers and Cowboys throughout the country which fits with the common thinking about their fanbases. The Giants are the clear top team in the NYC metro and the 49ers are way ahead of the Raiders in the Bay Area which is what I would have expected. Alabama seems to have the oddest distribution of fans with a few random counties where the Jets are number one and others where the Lions, Packers, Ravens, Patriots, Titans Chargers and Broncos are first.

RE: OT: NFL Twitter Fan Map
If it was not obvious before that NFL has a regional fanbase, this map pretty much confirms it.

So the most interesting spots are the states in the middle with no pro teams or states with 2 teams.

I am surprised how much of california is dominated by the 49ers, not the Raiders or Chargers. The 49ers also dominate Nevada.

The Cowboys reach is far, not only most of Texas, but New Mexico, oklahoma, and Arkansas too.

Iowa is a 4 way split between Vikings, Packers, Chiefs and Bears. Surprised the Bears don't reach farther into Iowa. It seems like the Packers reach is a lot deeper than it should.

It seems the Rams in general dont have much reach. Maybe thats why they are talking about leaving St. Louis.

Same with the Jaguars, not much reach outside Jacksonville.

Interesting how the Steelers dominate most of Penn.

And Alabama is interesting too.
