I kinda felt from the mild summer here in GA that it was going to be a bad winter.

Me too. We got close to 100F only a few times but never hit it. Normally we hit triples at least 15 to 20 times each Summer. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more arctic weather push this way again all winter.

Wow, that's as cold as we're getting up here in northern Illinois.

And we had a warmer than usual summer in Coastal California. It was caused by a lack of onshore wind flow that typically stirs up the cold ocean water during the summer.

You guys getting any rain yet?

Rained last Saturday and is raining right now. Hopefully, this will bring the fire season to an end. The last I saw was that we needed somewhere in the 130% of our normal rainy season total to get out of the drought.

It's been a cooler than normal year in Dallas. Must be climate change.

Meh.. I already saw 6 inches of snow in early September. Then again, I was in Calgary. This winter is supposed to be wetter and colder than normal in the deep south.

Going to get very cold even here in Norfolk. Often, we are protected from these early winter blasts from being so near the sea but it looks like that will not be the case this time.

No snow here in Charlotte (we weren't expecting it anyway), but some of the counties south of us actually got some. Columbia saw some snow this morning and much of the Midlands of SC saw 1-3 inches. Earliest snowfall ever in Columbia. Crazy.

The National Park Service posted on Facebook this morning that some of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park had gotten over 17 inches of snow at the highest elevations with more falling.

Looks like this year will be like last... mild summer ... mild winter ... but in winter you get blasts of DEEP arctic air rolling through dumping snow along I-40 and northward a ton and from time to time along I-20 and I-85 from Atlanta northward.
