RE: Week 9 Power Rankings
1. Marshall - Currently being snubbed in the rankings. Should be in the top 20.
2. La Tech - Winning each game a different way on offense, with a sturdy defense. A young but COMPLETE team.
3. MT - Defense keeps them just below Tech.
4. FAU - Also a complete team, but the consistency isn't there yet (see FIU).
5. Rice - Ranked lower because of the schedule to date. We haven't seen what they can do against the better CUSA squads. Had trouble with the hapless Mean Green.
6. UAB - Starting to cool down after the fast start. Being one-dimensional is going to hurt more this late in the season.
7. UTEP - Climbing. I'm not sure what we'll learn after the USM game, but I expect a convincing UTEP win.
8. Western Kentucky - When you give up an AVERAGE of 41 points a game, it doesn't matter how good the QB is. The D is on the field all game, and it's hurting. 2012 Tech fans know this pain.
9. FIU - Too inconsistent on offense. They'll move up quite a bit with a win against Rice.
10. Southern Miss - Injuries keep them from being ranked higher.
11. Old Dominion - Beat Vandy.
12. UTSA - Wheels done fell off. One more loss, and they may pack it in.
13. UNT - Mini-mac not gonna get it done.

RE: Week 9 Power Rankings
I don't know? but I'll give it a shot. I put FIU ahead of UAB because they beat us. UTEP's losses are to 2 power conference teams and the west leader. Two undefeated teams in C-USA play at the top. UAB beat WKU who beat ODU, so that gave me 8,9, & 10. Every game UNT has lost has been by double digits.

1. Marshall
2. LA Tech
3. Middle Tennessee
4. Rice
5. FAU
6. UTEP
7. FIU
8. UAB
9. Western Kentucky
10. Old Dominion
11. Southern Miss
12. UTSA
13. North Texas

RE: Week 9 Power Rankings
1. Marshall - goes without saying
2. LA Tech - I really do not like the Tech. but they are unbeaten in the conference and until they lose their spot is #2
3. Middle Tennessee - I was expecting more from this team but they do scare me as we visit them next month
4. Rice - After a horrible start they righted the ship. I wasn't impressed with them against UNT, though...
5. UTEP - a solid team that has improved a lot compared to where they were last year.
6. FIU - they are here because of their defense and because they beat FAU
7. FAU - we are here because we are Jakyll one week and Hide the next. Also, we lost to FIU.
8. UAB - I am not a believer yet. If they beat us in Boca Raton Saturday, I will become a believer.
9. Western Kentucky - A good place to rank a one-dimensional team. Potentially great offense and total lack of D.
10. Southern Miss - better than last year and improving fast.
11. Old Dominion - That win against MTSU is intriguing.
12. UTSA - quickly becoming irrelevant until 2015.
13. North Texas - almost irrelevant until 2015.

Rice?

Or did MTSU lose because we secretly inserted Calvinball rules into the rulebook, and the streaker spiking the ball in the end zone was an automatic win?

Sorry! Rice, of course, Rice. MTSU only has 1 conference loss to the Herd! I plead temporary insanity.

UAB will drop dramatically if our starting QB is still hurt. He supposedly may be out 2-6 weeks. If he is out we probably go 0-4 or 1-3 to finish the season for sure.
