Well, one of your "garbage" teams spent the past two Saturdays beating CMU on the road and parlayed 29 consecutive points into a beatdown of Akron at home 35-21. Next up is NIU, recent loser at home to the same CMU team.

I honestly think I could have made more sense if I threw darts at names on the wall blindfolded. With the information that we have to this point, this is how that list looks.
WMU - Lost to #4; beat #3, #7, and "garbage"
NIU - Lost to #5; beat "garbage", "garbage", and "garbage"
BG - Lost to #1, beat #7, "garbage", and "garbage"
Toledo - Lost to nobody yet, beat #1, #5, "garbage", and "garbage"
CMU - Lost to "garbage", beat #2, #7, and "garbage"
Akron - Lost to #7 and "garbage", beat "garbage" and "garbage"
Ohio - Lost to #1, #3, and #5; beat #6
Since winning and losing means pretty much everything in college football, I would say a monkey drawing team names out of a hat in order could come up with a list that makes as much if not more sense.

My money would be on your "garbage" team over his #2 team. I'm probably about 70% confident your garbage team wins that matchup.

Right, cause it's only conference games that determine how good a team is?
Keep telling yourself that Toledo is the best team in the conference.

Would you feel better if I put Ball State between Ohio and Garbage?

Toledo has to be over at least WMU as WMU needs them to lose twice.
Toledo
-------
NIU
CMU
WMU
BGSU
-------
Ohio
Akron
Buffalo
--------
Ball St
UMass
EMU
Miami
Kent St
Until UMass can turn all these close games they've had to Ws, I can't put them over Ball St and Buffalo. I put CMU over WMU as WMU's had a bye. Though if Rawls really is done, CMU would drop to under Ohio.

Fair enough and we play the 3 teams above us. This is Whips first year and clearly has us playing better and expect it to continue. You'll have to wait though as we have the next 18 days off.
Massey MAC Rating
Note, this way includes all teams, including FCS teams.

Fair enough. Please keep thinking that way. It will make the remainder of the season that much more fun for UMass since we close out against Ball St. Akron and Buf.

Toledo for many years had very good teams yet managed to lose v NIU and Ball State. This year's Toledo team is not good but finds a way to win MAC games. Power ratings are meaningless since the best team does not always win.

Equating Toledo with a banana peel may be your only slip up.

RE: Post week 9 Power rankings
NIU is better than toledo if beating one fair team in Northwestern is better than losing to three fair or good teams in OOC play, and losing to the only common opponent with Toledo by 2 TD's. Also toledo has beat another one loss team in the MAC, and NIU hasn't played a one loss team yet in MAC play.
6-2 whippeee, as far as I am concerned toledo would be 7-1 because um... CMU.
