RE: Post week 9 Power rankings
I expect WMU to beat CMU and win out. They end with one conference loss--to Toledo. If Toledo wins out or loses only to BG, Toledo plays for the MAC championship.

%to win out:
EMU .1%
Miami 4.3%
OU 6.5%
UMASS 6.2%
Buffalo 3.9%
Ball State 6.6%
Akron 5.3%
CMU 31.1%
BG 2.2%
WMU 9.4%
Toledo 11.3%
NIU 9.3%

All I can take away is that CMU has one tough game left vs. WMU and that's really it. BG shouldn't beat both Akron, and Toledo. And Toledo looks in good shape because NIU and UT should both lose one, and in that case UT goes to the MACC. Just another ranking systems opinion. Very interesting though.
I am assuming that the CMU % is a typo.

Especially with Rawls out for the time being.

I don't think it is. CMU is favored by 16 against EMU and will be favored against Miami fairly big as well. Not saying we will win those both, but if you are playing the odds. WMU will be tough for sure.

And there is nothing out about Rawls yet. He left the game but was not in crutches and was able to walk off the field on his own. My guess would be "questionable" against EMU as for now. Probably find out tomorrow.

No typo. Its espn power index, going on who they have beaten and the records (power) of who they have left. It probaby doesnt take into consideration injuries though.

Or that KSU is still in the league. Quality work there as usual, ESPN.

To be fair to ESPN, they might not list schools with a power index of 0.0%, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was our power index this year.

Thank god E$PN no longer has to fork over any money to pay an editor. Now any average schmo that doesn't know a thing can get his article in print and act like it actually means anything or has some relation to reality. I weep for sports media nowadays, such as it is.

I'm sure it would require WAY too much time to count to 13.

Interesting that you blame sports media. Lots of these guys got journalism degrees from schools that think their fourteen team conferences have ten teams. Why should we expect them to turn out students who can count ?

6-2 whippeee, as far as I am concerned toledo would be 7-1 because um... CMU.

Sorry, what?

Near as I can tell, translated into English it would be something about a two loss team being better than a one loss team because the two loss team has better wins and a stronger schedule.

RE: Post week 9 Power rankings
I said that prior to woodside, and julian going down. Would be like NIU fans making a pediction if Hare and Maddie went down. I watch practice...we had a handful of plays for Macon to run... then we ran out of steam. It was the element of surprise for our own team, let alone NIUs D. Proud of him. Proud we didnt turn the ball over or roll over. I do think a Woodside who could more than lightly jog or could plant his foot would have been much more effective than Julian....

Idc what NIU fans think. They have two games left just like we do, and statistically we are all knotted up at the top.

Macon played well for someone put in his position. We looked like keystone cops trying to tackle him. Or maybe the Chicago Bears. Nah, not that bad.
