I'm surprised the open practice
is being held on the Fisher Court. I thought we'd be on the big court where there would be plenty of room for onlookers. But I'm looking forward to watching the kids regardless where we can watch. Someone is obviously listening, since lobbying for open practices has fallen on deaf ears with our previous AD, but maybe the new policy will be more fan friendly, which will be a good thing.

I could be wrong, but I think it was Chris's decision to close practices, since Steve was always very fan friendly when we were at the practices. I don't foresee all practices being open, but Monday might be a test to see how it works out. Maybe if we're non obtrusive we'll be welcomed at more practices. I know I'm going to blend in with the woodwork. Speak when spoken to. Like a well behaved child.04-cheers

I'd guess that they opted for the practice court because it won't hold many fans. And I think I remember reading where Steve said he wanted all the Trojan fans to be able to see the team practice. Come to think of it, that practice gym might hold all the fans that are left.

I also doubt that the decision to close practices was just Chris' idea. I would think that most coaches wouldn't want distractions at practices, with the players looking around at the crowd while he's trying to teach. Although I used to like to go occasionally, I've never blamed Steve for closing most practices at least. I am glad they've opened it up at least a few times. I doubt that any coach would want fans there everyday watching. Especially today with all the social media available.

My over/under for fans attending is 15. I'll take the under. Regardless we'll have plenty of room on Fisher Court.

You guys complain about everything thing, why not just post supportive things. For so long it's been complaints about no open practices. Now we have an open practice, but the Fisher court is not good enough. Im new to this blog since moving to Little Rock about a year ago, but have been following it for a while.

Glad to have you. Hope you will make it out to some games. I hope you will post supportive things- we definitely have enough complainers on this board already.

RE: I'm surprised the open practice
My comment wasn't meant to be a complaint. I'm appreciative they're holding an open practice. It was just surprising to me they didn't hold the open practice while practicing on the big court so the onlookers wouldn't be so close to the action. As far as complainers on the board, we'll have no more complainers when we do away with the "pass up a good shot for a better one" philosophy, fill up the Jack for every game, recruit at least two five star recruits and the best players in Arkansas every season, win the SBC and win at least three or four games in the NCAA each season, a national championship every five years, and every practice is open. I predict if all those things occur, you'll hear very little complaining on the board. At least it will be minimal!

Nope. Complainers are complainers.

Yep. I'm sure you'll find plenty of complainers on the Kentucky board and they meet all those criteria and more.

I win! According to RBL 14 people came into the Fisher Court at some point during the 2 hour and 15 minute practice. There were not ever 14 folks in there at the same time, but I'll take RBL's word for it especially since I win the bet. Too bad Frank Fletcher didn't bet me 12 cars on the "over" like he did on the hogs winning a conference game last season. I don't think he made the same bet on the hogs this season.
