Considering Neil Schon wrote most of Journey's songs, the band with the new lead singer would have the rights to play most of the big hits, so Journey hands down.
If Steve Perry got access to them all as well, then I don't know. Since I've already seen Journey with the other singer I guess I'd pick Steve Perry.

Very weird dynamic. I saw Chris Cornell in Nash back in 2007 at a 700 seat venue. He played solo, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple stuff. Sounded incredible. BUT had it been billed as Soundgarden (even though I don't know any of the backing guys) it would have been at Bridgestone.

They have the voice, that's all you need.
Kind of like Foreigner now.
They have a guy that sounds a lot like Lou Gramm.
They recorded a new song awhile back with the new guy.
There are parts of the song where the new singer Kelly Hansen sounds just like Lou...and others parts not so much.

just ain't the same
That is a good example. I've seen McCartney several times and I feel like I've pretty much seen The Beatles. I've seen Ringo, not so much the same feeling.
I guess it's just how much stake you put in the band part of the equation.
Axl can tour and sing all the songs of GNR, but w/o Slash the crowds are sparse, even though the guitar player can play the songs just as sloppy as Slash would have.
Steve Perry played at the Orpheum last time he was solo (mid 90-s) and played mostly all Journey songs. Had he had the band behind him, it was likely a Pyramid gig.

Mid 90s was a long time ago, that is the reason I am wondering what he would draw solo now.
We saw Don Henley at a smaller venue (7,000 seats) but with The Eagles they sell out arenas world wide.
Have seen Stevie Nicks at the same venue sold out, but with Fleetwood Mac they sell out arenas. For the record, I prefer Stevie and her band to Fleetwood Mac.

maybe a bad analogy, but I'd rather see Styx with the new guy than dennis deyoung with a band
but then dennis is a total tool
(actually so is steve perry so maybe not such a poor analogy after all)

Well, Glen Frey sings most of the better Eagles songs anyway, and Mac has a lot of others songs not done by Stevie.
I think Steve Perry (assuming his voice issues are corrected) would be able to fill up Mud Island, probably not at the price tag Journey just did. Again, though, about 25% of big Journey songs has Shon or Vallory doing vocals. So there's that.
Same for Styx.
I do recall, as likely the best analogy, Foreigner and Lou Gramm played in Memphis within a week of each other. Foreigner did live at the Garden, Gramm played at the Delta Fair.

Henley draws more as a solo than Frey or Walsh. It's weird.

If Plant decided to do ALL zep songs and advertise as such, could he fill FEF?
The key for me would be if they ever allowed the original lead singer/keyboardist, Gregg Rolie, back. Even after Perry joined, he had the lead on a favorite: Feelin That Way. Also did Just the Same Way and several others.
I'd love to hear in concert some from the first three albums that were all pre-Perry and much much different. Especially "For a Lifetime" and "Kehoutek".

True. I would pay good money to see them.
And now we'll never get to see the complete AC/DC again.
