Beginning with the 2014-15 basketball season, WLBK FM 98.9 and WLBK AM 1360 will air all men's basketball and women's basketball games. All Huskie football games will be added to the line-up beginning with the 2015 season. Additionally, WLBK FM 98.9 and WLBK AM 1360 will air "NIU Weekly", a 30-minute show focusing on NIU Athletics and co-hosted by Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier, and the "Inside Huskie Football" coaches show, starting in 2015. Huskie Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports, oversees all aspects of the Huskie Sports Network.

From the point of view of tradition, I am very glad that NIU sports broadcasts have come back home. I am also glad that the games will be on a clear FM channel. Sounds so much sharper and clearer on FM.

I wonder what behind the scenes talks went on between Learfield, WCPT, and WLBK.

No, it would take the place of WCPT (92.5 FM). We're set with WIND.

I'm assuming there's nowhere to watch the MBB games? Or is all-access still a thing? I never had to use it till now as I was a student.

The MAC's website has been hosting the home team's feed the last couple of years (that I know of, I miss out from working weird hours).

I did see online streaming capability, sounded good on my laptop....

No, the signal does not cover or even get into Chicago. WIND 560 covers the Chicagoland area. And at night, WLBK's signal barely makes it out of DeKalb.

There will be no streaming of the football games. I would assume also for basketball, but I'm not sure of that.

no...92.5 was a much better signal.

The WLBK stream for the NIU games should still be blocked.

We are trading off a wider coverage range to be with our traditional local station. Though its likely going to save us some money.

Also I cant imagine that 560 (a conservative station) was thrilled with us also being on 92.5 (a liberal station).

So we are on Wind and WLBK then?

The games will also be on WLBK-FM, which will give us a clearer broadcast.

The pregame was on 92.5.

Not sure why we couldn't break in that Dr Kobaba infomercial.

I flipped over the wlbk. Pretty ridiculous that the pregame wasn't on wind.

Too bad that there will be no streaming for non-local folks.
