And the title of this thread is incorrect. CUSA hired the firm, not Marshall.

I really hope the Marshall team starts getting big dreams about crashing the play off and forgets all about their date in Legion Field in November

That's such a damn double edged sword. If they are still undefeated, do we really want them to lose at that point? I want UAB to win, but I also want our athletic department to make some money. I would also hate for us to be the reason ECU and the AAC got the bid to a prestigious bowl. I'll be happy if we win the game, but it's going to suck because it will likely hurt us as well.

I want to win, money be darned.

No, no, no! Just think of all of the money that C-USA and its members would gain by Marshall playing in the Access Bowl and potentially dethroning a mighty SEC school. In all seriousness, the game on November 22 scares me. The combination of an improved UAB team and Marshall's history of struggling on the road will have me nervous until around 3pm that day. Looking forward to making the 30 minute trek down I22 to Legion Field! Btw, I think the conference hiring a PR firm is a little much. If Marshall simply wins it will all take care of itself.

A coach was criticized for "running up the score" in a game. Both coaches of the teams in the game agreed that it was the losing team's job to hold a score down.

The same applies to Marshall going undefeated - it is their job to win and our job to keep them from winning. If they win, it should be because they were the better team that day, not because of any foreign factor.
