Huskie Marching Band at Bears Game
Just wanted to say the Huskie Marching Band did a great job at Soldier Field on Sunday during halftime.

Given that there is a much shorter halftime period in pro games our band showcased itself well, much better than the U of I band that was there the previous game, which was slow, program was way, way too long, and took their sweet time getting on and off the field. The kickers from both teams were waiting for their band to clear the field for like 5 minutes. I even think the whole teams were waiting for them to clear out, and they took their sweet time. Not a good showing by U of I.

Our HMB guys hustled on the field and were ready and waiting when the field announcer gave them the go ahead. They gave a nice program, I believe it was the Queen program from the Miami game, and then they hustled off the field. You should all be proud.

My only criticism was that they did not play the Huskie Fight Song. Maybe they felt rushed, but they had plenty of time to do it. Would have liked to have heard that in front of 60k Bears fans. Next time they are there I hope they make that a priority.

Again, great job by the HMB!

Good to hear! HMB is consistently an outstanding part of the home games!

A co-worker was at the game and said the band put on a great show. I'm sad to hear they didn't play the Fight Song.

It probably would have been a nice thing to have Victor E. Huskie out there.

I was there, but was in line at the concession stand at halftime, and they don't have much audio coming out of those TV's.

As I have been saying here on the Dog Pound for a year now, the band has always had an excellent sound and they are very energetic. The problem is the size of the band. They are not a division 1 sized marching band.

Trust me, we (and now they) really appreciate it. Sometimes that perception of quality gets lost in the hurry and hustle of gamedays. You're kind words are always well received :)
