Its hard for me to reconcile all of the super hero's being in the same storyline. When their individual movies present them as the first of their kind in the history of the world, now they all show up together. It's weird IMO.

Iron Man ended with Nick Fury telling Tony Stark he wasn't the only one.

While watching the last Captain America movie I thought the threat magnitude required more firepower to efficiently subdue. He should have some of the other Avengers on speed dial.

I know they are silly movies, but my willing suspension of disbelief has limits (albeit very elastic).

Iron Man ended with Nick Fury telling Tony Stark he wasn't the only one.

It's also my understanding that, according to one of the Cinematic Universe side comics, the events from Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor all take place in the same week.

There's a massive fan edit of the Marvel movies to cut scenes together for all the pre-Avengers movies as they happen chronologically so you might have a scene from the Hulk, then the next scene is from Iron-Man 2. Here's an article about it: http://www.justpressplay.net/articles/93...r-cut.html

Idk, I haven't even watched the first avengers because I don't want to ruin how I look at the characters. I think DC is messing up by putting batman vs superman as well.

RE: Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel has done a fantastic job building their universe. They understood that they had to build the characters individually (and successfully) for the Avengers movie to work. Now they can take all of these characters that everyone already loves and tell a post-modern story like Nolan did with Dark Knight. Dark Knight did what it did because Nolan told a post 9-11 terrorism story through the prism of a Batman movie. Whedon appears to be making a similarly themed film, but exchanging old fashioned terrorism for cyber terrorism. Age of Ultron will likely break every box office record there is.

What's exciting is where Marvel is going after this Avengers movie. Captain America 3 will introduce the Civil War storyline where Tony Stark and Cap form their own separate Avengers teams. This will likely spill over into Avengers 3 and 4, when Thanos will finally make his way to Earth.

I have no idea what DC and Warner Brothers think they are doing. They seem to be putting all of their chips in the Batman/Superman basket, hoping they make a good enough movie that people will want to see the eventual Justice League movies. What if Batman vs Superman sucks? What if the response is "meh", like it was with Man of Steel?

Marvel has succeeded because they have hired storytellers to tell what is essentially one gigantic, long story. The brilliance of that strategy is it makes the hardcore fans and the general audience more and more invested in the big story with every movie they make. Guardians of the Galaxy outgrossing Man of Steel is exhibit A in how much more successful Marvel is than DC in the movie making business.

Batman v Superman has been lusted for for years. But so they don't get on this superhero boom like they have with everything but Batman, they are trying to be ambitious.

I guarantee... If the quality is there, you won't be upset with what DC/WB is doing.

Something I don't understand what DC is doing is allowing a Flash TV show on the WB. Then within a week or two of the premier of the show they announce an upcoming Flash movie that has no relation to the TV show.

It's because they don't get "it". WB is a movie studio that owns the rights to all DC Comics characters. They don't report to DC Comics or have anything to do with DC Comics unless they ask for help or guidance.

Marvel Studios is a movie studio owned by Marvel Entertainment (which is now owned by Disney). They hire specific writers and directors to interpret their characters exactly as they are told to interpret them and to tell the exact story they are told to tell. They control and micro-manage every aspect of each film. That seems like a bad way to do things, unless you have elite talent behind the scenes organizing each film and selecting the perfect talent for each particular character and film. Everything serves the larger story being told in the Marvel Movieverse.

WB-DC makes big budget movies starring comic book characters. The only exception would be the Nolan trilogy. Marvel makes comic book movies with big budgets.
