over the Sun Belt? Absolutely.

Haha bull****

HCD, I can understand what the 3 or 4 posters see regarding a straight-up comparison of the CAA to the SB. I just figure they are having a difficult time seeing the simple fact that we could have Duke and UConn come to BFS. Furthermore, we could go on the road in that same year to play Kentucky and still play W&M with all four of these games being in the same season. These posters want to focus way too much energy on having three away games west of GA and that there are schools in the SB who are struggling to keep a responsible eye on academics.

But the all knowing and business savvy Deez just said that no rationale person would suggest that a move to the SB is a good business move in any scenario. Clearly, that means you and the majority of posters on here that favor this move are all irrational people. Forget the fact that several of these individuals have many years of experience in the corporate world and hold high ranking positions within their respective organizations, as they, myself included, clearly have no idea what they're talking about. 07-coffee3

I think people on here who would favor a move to the Sunbelt all have their own reasons for thinking it's a good idea, and that's fine. We're fans, not administrators. But it's obvious that an administrator, or BOV member or whatever, has an obligation consider issues that the average fan doesn't give a crap about. It's kind of silly to judge an administrator's decision making process by the same criteria that a bunch of fans use while they sit around discussing JMU sports.

Isn't Deez the co-owner of an insanely successful startup company he built from the ground up? That's pretty business savvy.

That's great if he is, but his blanket statement about everyone who thinks the SB is a good move is irrational because it makes no business sense was ridiculous. I probably shouldn't have made that comment. There are a lot of very successful business professionals on this board and many different arguments why a move up to the SB makes a lot of business sense if it is between moving up or playing in the CAA. His comment was just as dumb as my response.

Sadly, the CAA is a better conference for us to be in compared to the Sun Belt. The problem will always be that we built an incredibly lopsided stadium that goes against all the principles of FCS and cost containment.

Sometimes I think that stadium might be the worst thing to happen to JMU football. While it is cool, it's lopsided and a bit silly and has given many people a false impression that JMU was going to be FBS at all costs. This clearly isn't the case and never was, many fans just interpreted it this way.

I do wonder if many of us would even expect or demand FBS football if they just redid the whole stadium as a one decked horseshoe with a capacity of 20k or so, which is looking more and more reasonable as the years go on.
