"The University of Texas will spend nearly $6 million a year to comply with a string of recent legal rulings requiring colleges to be more generous to their scholarship athletes.
That won’t break the bank, Athletic Director Steve Patterson said Tuesday at a forum on the fast-changing business of college sports. This probably will not affect the G5 much since hard to compete with them
anyway. Most could not spend six million a year on paying athletes. Here

6 million might be pocket change for UT, but not for a lot of P5s who would probably want stipends capped a good bit lower than $10k a year.
