Georgia Southern's attendance is bound to go down next year even if
they get both the GaSt fans.

Kidding State.

Kidding State.

It'll dip down our next two games. Thursday night vs Troy and a Thanksgiving weekend game vs ULM. Not a big draw for either game. Probably 18-20k for those.

The Cajuns always have a good crowd for homecoming, so I expect that number to improve, but then the Thanksgiving weekend game could be a killer.

RE: Average Sun Belt home attendance thru 10/22
Thanksgiving football weekends are a difficult time to get fans to attend.
Hunting in many areas hurt it around then also. That should be a really
good game between GaSo and Louisiana- Monroe.

RE: Average Sun Belt home attendance thru 10/22
it'll be interesting to see how the turnout is for the Troy game. Student turnout will make or break attendance numbers. For a stadium that holds 25K, we need about 10K students to fill that place. Almost sad that we can't get more than 15K paying fans to come watch a game. Also, certain sections can't be sold because they are student seating only. If they don't show up then they are left empty (this happened for the Idaho game). We had a great turnout by alumni and friends, but the student left a whole section open in the upper deck. 01-wingedeagle

Also, midweek games can really hurt numbers. I know ESPN wants the best matchups, but that hurts the schools bottom line. We aren't getting paid anything for these games and need the money a big weekend game can draw. I think if the ASU/UL game was on a Saturday it would've been packed.

I'm looking forward to the day when we have 35K stadium and average >30K/game.

This is why I hope it turns into a sorta championship game. I'm planning on being there. Wife and her sis will be putting up decorations that weekend and my dad and brother will be going to the game. 04-cheers Hoping students come back for the game.

Questions:

Should the minimal operative expectation/bench mark for attendance be 150% of the student enrollment? "Warning sign that something wrong."

Should the operative expectation for attendance be 250% of the student enrollment? "Confirmation that alumni and community support is moving in right direction."

Example: USA enrollment 16,055.
Minimum attendance at Football games = 24,083 avg attendance
Alumni and Community support at Football games = 40,138 avg attendance

Example: Louisiana Monroe 8,645
Minimum attendance at Football games = 12,968 avg attendance
Alumni and Community support at Football games = 21,613 avg attendance

That would mean TXST should pull 55,500 and 92,500 respectivly. Hey those are as good as UT and A&M

RE: Average Sun Belt home attendance thru 10/22
based on campus enrollments

The Minimum football average attendance expectation would be:

Ark State 20,330
Louisiana Lafayette 28,194
App State 26,384
Ga Southern 30,776
Texas Stqte 55,185
South Alabama 24,083
Louisiana Monroe 12,968
Troy 13,500
New Mexico State 27,746
Idaho 16,770
Georgia State 48,131

The Operative football average attendance expectation would be:

Ark State 33,883
Louisiana Lafayette 46,990
App State 43,973
Ga Southern 51,293
Texas Stqte 91,975
South Alabama 40,138
Louisiana Monroe 21,613
Troy 22,500
New Mexico State 46,243
Idaho 27,950
Georgia State 80,218

Note: The average FBS football attendance is just short of 46,000
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...wn-in-2014

So 46,000 should be the mark for Ga Southern, Ga State, NMSU, Texas State and Louisiana Lafayette

Who is at home this weekend?

GSU vs GS - should actually be a decent turnout.

Who else?
