All members of the Rice community are invited to one of REA's most popular annual events. Besides good food, good beverages and good company, the Fall Social honors a rising star of the Rice faculty: a professor who, though relatively new to Rice, has already brought considerable distinction to Rice and to the School of Engineering. This year's honoree is Kaz Karwowski, executive director of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL):

Kaz and his group are having a transformative impact on engineering education.

The Fall Social is $20 ($10 for REA Sponsors). Register here:

And if you haven't seen the REA Annual Report, please check it out here:
http://alumni.rice.edu/rea/annualreport
It is a thorough and well-designed summary of how REA serves its mission of Supporting Students, Connecting Alumni, and Encouraging Excellence.

While the rest of this forum debates conferences, dissention, and dissention to dissension, I'm looking forward to good beer, good dinner, and good inside info tomorrow evening (Wed) at the Saint Arnold Brewery.

Online RSVPs are closed but of course you can just show up.

I wish it did not conflict with basketball, but this was the date the brewery had available.
