Scheduling question
Georgia State In The Middle of Scheduling Anomaly

Can anyone recall when a team was scheduled to play teams 4 weeks in a row who were coming off a bye week?

I am not saying it would have changed any outcomes, but it would be nice to play four teams who don't have 2 weeks to prep for us.

It's a conspiracy, Stan. The SunBelt has set up the schedule to make every effort to keep GSU winless in conference. 05-stirthepot

(Stan, I hope you know I was kidding.)

Just ask Louisiana and stAte fans....Georgia Southern wrote up & approved the
conference schedule for this year, according to some of their fans.

I wish App didn't have an off week after the Troy game as it's the first bit of momentum they've had this year.

I am very much with you on wishing we played this week.
Guess we will have to do a request through the GS athletic
office next year for a change.

I wish we played Idaho this week, both teams are on a bye. Better than playing them 11/29.

Here and there yeah, but 4 in a row. Just kind of weird.

Stan, if it makes you feel any better, I always hate the game after an off
week. Normally seems like we forget how to play football in our off week.

Oh... don't take this as an excuse. I just thought it was strange. I am at the point where the most cringeworthy part of my football week isn't the final. It is the Monday injury report. I think coach said we are down to 53 for this week. Ugh.

That was us all last season. We were down 19 scholarships when we went to the swamp. We played a freshman and a walk-on at BBack, which was the offenses key position.

Does Georgia State still not award 85 scholarships?
How many do they award?

This year they can be at the full 85, but they might not have that due to attrition, or holding some back for next year.

I think yall will get up for us. I just hope we come out hard and fast after the bye week (and not stale/sluggish) and take the wind out of your sails early.

You can only award a max of 25 a year on signing day, I think(If I am wrong, I am positive I will be corrected multiple times). The way Curry had done the recruiting has basically screwed us. When Miles got here, we had 5 or 6 quit by the 2nd game. Just not willing to work. I think we were at 69 scholarships at the beginning of the year. So we are probably 2 years away from having the depth everyone else has. Give you an example... USA played 12 d-lineman against us, and we played five. LB Joe Peterson took every defensive snap. True freshman at corner hurts his shoulder and replaced with true freshman. So who knows what we have in the tank?

Oh and that 53 doesn't include redshirts.
