If you total them up, Wake only gets 2 home games and plays 3 true road games. No one else does that (BC has 3 away games but one is in Boston). So once again WFU is the peacemaker...

Perhaps one of the Wake road games will go neutral, maybe to Charlotte (?).

Maybe, but I doubt it. There are currently 2 teams which play neutral-site games - BC (@ Fenway) and Syracuse (@ MetLife). There is one team with 3 home games (Pitt) and one with 2 away games (Wake).

One of the away Wake games may indeed get moved to a Shamrock game.

ND has not designated a Shamrock game for 2017 or 2023 when the have WF. That game could easily be moved to DC, Charlotte, Chicago, or Indianapolis. WF while not having a huge traveling contingent, has a wealthy traveling contingent and with notice will go just for the experience.

From the league's standpoint, ND moving the game to DC would be a good deal as it would step on Maryland and the B10 for a week. 04-cheers

The fact that Shamrock Series games have not been designated for those years is a good catch.

Shamrock Series games are always ND home games moved from South Bend to another city.

ND controls the gate and NBC televises the games.

I doubt any ND away games will be so designated.

So VT doesn't play them in the first two or last 4 years.

We have a stretch of 4 games in 6 years within a 12 year deal. Seems odd.

2018 was the critical year (no P5 OOC on the schedule). The other years are just fine as is.

2019- ODU, @Wisconsin, @Notre Dame, @ECU needs some work

It does seem odd for two schools that have never played before.

A full cycle would involve 14 years (assuming you don't end with a 4 or 6 game year without the other). My guess is that, 12 years out (11 years from now) is all they wanted to go for now given any parts of schedules past that aren't really developed. In the final 2 years, I suspect you'll see things balance out as long as it works around everyone else's schedule.

They can move one of those road games to Ireland for all we care. Playing in Charlotte seems kind of pointless given how much exposure Notre Dame will get in North Carolina already. Chicago or DC would work best from Wake's perspective to play in front of alumni and getting exposure to potential students.
