Wife and I will be there. No kids! We're actually doing the football trifecta this weekend:
HS game in Charlotte Friday night
Dukes on Saturday
Panthers on Sunday

As far as streamers, I'm assuming we are on a bring your own status for this game. I'm planning on streamer shopping Thursday.

RE: Charlotte game Who's Going?
To those who are going and/or may live in the Charlotte area, what is the best way to get to the game from NoVa?

My wife and I were in Durham this past weekend for the older daughters wedding and we had major issues on I95 and I85 so I would
prefer to avoid them again. Was thinking of maybe taking US29 down or possibly I81/I77.

Any thoughts or advice? Also where does one park?

Thanks. Tickets arrived while we were at the wedding so we are good to go!!

Looking forward to the road trip!!

I love taking that 29 route from the NoVA area down through Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Danville, pick up 85 in Greensboro on down to Charlotte. You come into town right at the University. My wife is from Lynchburg, so I know that route well.

Update: and if you didn't know already, we live in Charlotte within a few miles of UNCC.

Thanks for the info. Was highly considering the Rte 29 way as I am tired of the Interstates.

Might take the I77/I81 route home as we could stop at Harrisonburg and have a meal with the younger daughter. Depending of length of game, how far we get etc.

Looking forward to seeing a nice turnout at the game!!

Take a look at this alternate route to return taking you up to Harrisonburg. Its a nice ride and from the UNCC campus, its spot on the same time it takes going up 77, YUK!

Once again I agree with BleedingPurple on the route. My wife is a JMU grad, so we came back on this route after last year's game in Harrisonburg. We liked it so much we went that way again last week for a weekend at Wintergreen...

I drive from Greene County to Charlotte for (almost) every game, and I use 29. I'm not sure how much longer it would take to come over the mountain on 33, but if that doesn't add too much time I'd highly recommend it.

Looks like you're parking in the Yellow Deck. Can't beat it... it's the closest parking option to y'all's alumni tailgate.

Stop by the Normbulance on the way to say hi and have a beverage. I'll be the guy downing Bold Rocks. You can't miss us! (Seriously. There's only one ambulance. Hopefully.)

Honestly, I'm incredibly excited for this. I had a blast in Harrisonburg last year, despite the monsoon and subsequent beat down. I really wish y'all had gotten an invitation to C-USA instead of that other F_U program. Y'all have an incredibly open and welcoming fan base, and I'd love to do this every year.

So I called to see if I could get in on the official tailgate and the ticket office says it's closed. Anyone doing their own thing and do you have a spot picked out? Can bring beverages!

So... since I live in Virginia, am I saying "you're welcome" to myself?

04-cheers
