I have mixed feelings about this. Essentially we are talking about a stupid mutual fight between two young men, probably, I'm sure, over something idiotic. We are not talking about an incident involving dishonesty, or drugs or the like. in that respect, five games for Andre, who, after all, has a previous history, and two games for Tom seems about right.
On the other hand, it is embarrassing to see us give Andre yet another bite at the apple, and it makes us look like we care more about winning then we do about character. Would Tony Bennett allow this? I doubt it. I would not kick Andre out of school for this, but the discipline needs to be greater. JMU needs to insist upon a higher standard, and should make that clear to all players now.

Eventually the court details have to leak out.
Isn't it obvious that Andre's barely hanging on due to his past disciplinary history? Not trying to be a jerk, but I thought this was very apparent. Has Tom V had any past incidents?
I heard Brady speak at an event a week ago and of course the topic of Nation was brought up. Brady said that the day after the news broke about Nation, Rayshawn Goins talked to Brady and told him that he had problems with alcohol while at JMU, but ever since the day he got in trouble with the law he has not had a drink. Brady said he hoped that Nation would have a similar type of reaction (of course it seems like that may not be true at this point), and that he thinks Nation is a good kid, but has issues that he doesn't know how to deal with and needs to mature in order to move on in his life and be as successful as he can be.

I'm truly embarrassed with the leaders we have. How many more years on Brady's contract?
