RE: How WMU wins the MAC West
Just give the ball to Franklin. The more I watch other teams in the country, I'm thinking he would be at the top one or two of the depth chart on any team there is this year.

Amazing recruit, especially for a coach who was 1-11 and only had one year experience when he landed him. Those kind of studs don't come along very often for any program. Along with his power game which is sick, more than once he ran away from the secondary against every team this year, not just MAC competition. VaTech's, Purdues as well. This guy is the best I have ever seen talent wise take the field for WMU.

I completely agree. Often times we'd have a RB who could run away from defenders but fell down if you looked at him, or we'd have a back that could break a few tackles but would get run down by D-lineman. It's rare to have a back that can do both... AND reads blocks as well as he does. It's going to be a fun 3.5 more years

Quote:We should expect to beat either NIU or Toledo next year and should expect to beat a good GA southern team.

Both those games (NIU, Toledo) are on the road... plus GA-Southern, who is arguably one of the best mid-majors out there. They're 5-2. Lost @NC-State by 1pt. Lost @GA-Tech by 4. Having to down there -- IMO, we'd have a better chance @Illinois.

Quote:It depends on how we finish this year. I definitely agree that we need to expect more than five wins next year.

Yes, I agree. We're still in claymation form, not hardened quite yet. How we will pan out is yet to be determined. But the Way we're going, we'll be 6-6/7-5 this year. But next year's schedule is going to be More Brutal. If we have the same record next year as this one, we Will be a Very Improved team from THIS year. I would expect 6-6 at realistic best next year, but not much worse though either -- the way things are looking for us right now.

Quote:I don't think we'll be the huge underdogs vs the Big 10. Fleck will be in his fourth year and all these young players we have now and are coming in will be Jrs and Srs and we'll have another round of top recruiting coming in.

That's why I think 2016 will be our "breakout year". Even improved, we can't expect going 7-5 NEXT year. 2016, improved, with an easier schedule? Look Out.

RIDING OFF PURE ASSUMPTION & OPTIMISTIC:
2015:
MSU - L (20%) [FRIDAY NIGHT GAME!]
@GA-South - L (40%)
FCS-Team - W (98%)
@Ohio State - L (10%)
@Toledo - L (40%)
BSU - W (60%)
@EMU - W (70%)
CMU - W (65%)
@NIU - L (40%)
EAST1 - W (70%)
EAST2 - W (65%)
@EAST3 - L (50%)
W/L: 6.28-5.72 (5-3 MAC, 1-3 OOC --> 6-6)

2016:
@NW - L (50%)
@Illini - L (45%) [2nd year with their new coach]
FCS - W (98%)
GA-South - W (60%)
Toledo - W (60%)
@BSU - W (65%)
EMU - W (75%)
@CMU - W (55%)
NIU - W (55%)
EAST1 - W (75%)
@EAST2 - W (65%)
@EAST3 - W (75%)
W/L: 7.78-4.22 (7-1/6-2 MAC, 2-2 OOC --> 9-3/8-4) [Depending on Injuries, Luck, Injuries of other teams, etc]
