So, Russia times reports that a German paper claims that German intelligence implicates a (Russian-supported) Ukrainian rebel group that is loyal to the pro-Russian separatists, with arms seized from a Ukrainian army base that was overrun. I don't see that as controversial. Yes, the tweet says "Ukraine Militia", which does not mean pro-Ukraine.

Am I missing something?

My German isn't the best, but the German news article cited says the German Intel blamed pro-Russian separatists for shooting down the airliner.

Russia Today's translators are either the worst on the planet or they are outright lying because they know most people won't bother to verify.

I'm going with outright lying.

Isn't this just sort of par for the course?

What did they lie about? They were Ukrainian militias (i.e. militias operating in the Ukraine). It's twitter ... everything looks like **** on twitter. What it says is true, if a bit misleading. Was it intentionally misleading? That may be par for the course with RT, but I can't say one way or the other whether they wrote that thinking that people might believe that there were pro-Ukrainian militias involved. The article itself seems clear enough.

Fair point about it maybe not being intentionally misleading, but for most people, calling it the Ukraine militia is going to immediately make most people think it is a pro-Ukrainian group, rather than pro-Russia separatists.

Ok. At least I get the objection now. It's like arguing over who fired the first shot at Fort Sumter. From the British perspective, the answer was clear - "the Americans".

There is no boundary on the depth that Russia will achieve. Russia already has passed the first circle of hell.

True, considering our press and how they take sides am not sure it wouldn't be better
to have only ordinary citizens posting the news.

I think twitter was invented by an American. By definition, that makes us worse, by far. I don't think America can ever recover from twitter.
