I think some coaches also get offended by that. Driving down inside the 10 then kneeling says, "we know we can score, but we're not going to because we don't want to embarrass you," which in itself is kind of embarrassing. I think what Freeze wanted was to call a bunch of runs in to the line of scrimmage so it didn't look like he was having pity on us, but didn't run the score up either. Dodson felt differently, and our D didn't stop him. It is what it is. Either way, I think Freeze was trying to do the right thing.

Freeze wanted to cover against us. That was all he was trying to do.

Surviving and advancing isn't very glamorous until you've survived all the way to the Championship game.

When Freeze was at Arkansas State he was taking a knee with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter at the Liberty Bowl because he was tired of scoring against Larry Porter. That was against a team he should have been coaching, wanted to be coaching, and might still be coaching if our AD had any sort of vision.

Don't be sour now that he's dominating somewhere else. Class or no, covering keeps boosters happy. Happy boosters = happy program.

there is your answer. Coaches take a knee to not subject their team to a needless injury. Very little to do with class.
