Dream DC hire
Having already worked together at AU, my dream hire would be Will Muschamp. Apparently he's one of those guys that simply can't get right as a HC, however the man is a DC wizard. Not to mention the guy can recruit his tail off. He's going to get hired just as soon as UF cans him (or he'll take some time off) but the fact is he's gonna be in high demand. Would be awesome if he worked to rebuild his credibility alongside his old boss.

Likelihood of happening? Less than 1%

A man can dream.........

RE: Dream DC hire
For my "dream" hire at this point, I'd like to see Mike Tomblin (current HC, Pittsburgh Steelers) come back if he's canned up in P-Burgh... He was an assistant here at one point and his name recognition alone would be huge.

On a slightly lower note, Tom Bradley (former DC-Penn State) is an assistant at WVU. It'd be a promotion to get him back to a full DC at Cincinnati and I credit him with most of the improvement in play at WVU this year.

RE: Dream DC hire
The Steelers do not fire head coaches. Tomlin has that job until the pressure to leave gets so great he can't stand it. And that won't happen anytime soon.

I had a friend from Bowling Green complain they have a bad defensive coordinator, but he won't be fired because he is the head coach's best friend. he said at least the guy in Cincinnati will can his defensive coordinator.

The only question I have is that Eddie Gran sure looked like a bad offensive coordinator last year, but this year looks pretty good. Would Hughes look a lot better in a second season, especially if the talent on that side of the ball improves?

Hell, bring back Rex Ryan if the Jets can him. Great entertainment value.

The only thing I wonder is why Chizik is still out of the coaching spotlight. I've got to think that there is the stench of something relating to impropriety at Auburn and Cam Newton that is following Chizik around.

The hottest looking, female porn star we can afford.

1) Defense wouldn't be any worse.
2) Ticket sales would go up.
3) Recruiting would improve.

I think his severance package is keeping him out of work.

I'm assuming that would be some 60+ year old lady that's only managed to stay in the game this long by doing some really freaky stuff.

I doubt it is the severance. Normally they are written with an offset clause. Assume the severance is 3 years at $1,000,000 per year. If you take another job paying $300,000 per year the $1,000,000 does not end but simply is reduced to $700,000 thus he still makes $1,000,000 a year. Yes he could make the same playing golf but most want to get back plus sitting out for a lengthy time hurts future employment chances.

Chizik is sadly mistaken if he waiting for another HC gig. Takeaway the 2010 championship season (with CTT's recruits) and he is a .500 HC @ ISU and Auburn. He should take a DC gig to remain in the game.

If I recall correctly, Chizek has a unique severance provision.

Minter is probably making more as an Eagles assistant.

RE: Dream DC hire
Dream hire would be some big time coach. Realistically, we could land Ed Orgeron as co-DC/recruiting God.
