The 2-3 zone kills recruiting? That's why Boeheim gets McDonald's All-Americans every year, I guess.

As for the offense, we all agree that it needs to improve. Where is this "vocal minority" that has said otherwise?

We've had one season over .500, so I don't think we can make any claims about the "win and the will come" theory. Nobody said one 22 win season would solve all our prolems.

1) Most EMU fans accept mediocrity. Our record the last three seasons is 52-51. Not setting the MAC on fire!
2) I don't like the system( exclusive Zone defense, street ball offense, and year after year of having the majority of our recruiting be transfers).

After three seasons, I have seen enough to understand the direction we are going......

Sir, I hope you didn't major in math or stats... Do linear regression on these numbers and get the trend line.

2010/11: 9/22

2011/12: 14/18

2012/13: 16/18

2013/14: 22/15

I don't see a problem here. 22/15 was against a very tough OOC schedule and the MAC which was at tough as it has been in maybe 10 years.

Agenda????

BTW, this is why I'm optimistic on men's basketball. I'm looking at data which would make any statistician or data analyst or financial analyst (if the data was financial) smile. 04-cheers

In 3 years we've gone from 9 to 22 wins.

Where will we be in football 2016? I have no idea. Two, four, six, eight or 10 wins???? I have no idea. I have nothing to base an opinion.

Exactly. It's definitely a start in the right direction, but it's not going to win us any recruiting battles (yet) over schools like WMU and Oakland, that have been successful for a while. Rome wasn't built in a day...we still have years and years of stink to wipe away, and one 22 win season isn't going to do that by itself.

I love this thread. Not. A complete collection of our most re-hashed posts from the last year or two.

This comes from Mr Re-Hash himself. The MACs non conference schedule as a whole sucks for anyone but the tournament winner to be going anywhere but to a 3rd or 4th rate tournament!

I was taking my cue from another poster who was making the point that this has become a 'talking points' thread.

I'm not the only voice in the wilderness, Bovine I liked your post, yep Murphy is a solid X and O guy but not a great face on the program you always wonder if he wants to be here not a surprise recruits may wonder that too. Creighton is night and day as the face of the football program. Bob W solid points Murphy is like the guy who each year fixes the cracks around the foundation ala transfers instead of building a new foundation with some solid high school recruiting. I've said this before and I'll say it again EMU is almost a non factor in Michigan high school basketball compared to other mid majors in Michigan.

Yes Murphy is much better than the previous two coaches. You have to give him credit for last year's 22 win season when apparently no one at the NIT, the no more than 300 fans showed up for a tourney game and it didn't put us on the map with recruits or anyone else even noticed.

My prediction this year is 18-12 against a watered down schedule.

But here is a question if Murphy really thought THIS year's team was as talented as last year's team why water down the schedule?

Where was he telling people what they should and shouldn't post? He just called it exactly what it was...a thread that is merely a rehash of every little thing people on here love to complain about in regards to Murphy. Overreact much?

It still blows my mind how you expected us to become a recruiting juggernaut in-state after one over-500 season. Let me ask you this...if Tim Bond and Ethan Alvano end up being really good players, will you still be beating the "local recruit" drum? Or will you accept that there is talent elsewhere and our recruiting doesn't have to be confined to Michigan?

He's constantly whining about comments that do not paint roses on the grave of EMU athletics. More of the same.

There is painting roses on a grave, and then there is complaining for the sake of complaining. I get the football complaints, but there is lots of the latter in this thread.
