Great play to knock away a third and goal pass in the fourth quarter.

Big day for Phillip!

He played great! He is so calm under pressure. So happy for him!! I even got a text from Coach Thurmond wishing him luck. I love that man! So does Phillip!

Wow! Great to hear! Just wish I'd seen it.

Watched the game in a sports bar so it was hard to see who did what and missed the last 7 minutes to watch my son play soccer. Scoured the web for some Gaines stuff:

For a lifelong KC fan it's been a great couple of weeks. I was in the stands for the Monday night demolition of the Pats. 8-0 for the Royals. (To be honest I gave up on the Royals about two decades ago).

Congrats to the Gaines family on the big game and good luck to the Royals this week. I still remember most of their last team to win the World Series 30 years ago (George Brett, Bye Bye Balboni, a young Bret Saberhagen, Willie Wilson and Frank White, among others). Unfortunately that's about five players more than I could name of their current team.

Interesting you should mention Balboni. I had forgotten about him so I googled him and this article came up.

Was not a Royals fan but two of my favorites Jim Sundberg and Dan Quisenberry were on that team.

Any chance they will roll back the prices to 1985 tomorrow night at Kaufman?

Well, if they continue to improve, maybe he'll get the opportunity to put lots of pats on their back...

Appeared to be a helmet to the knee. Probably a bruise and hopefully nothing worse.
