Really guys? Well, at least they were forward thinking enough to bring Gordon Gee back into the fold before something like this happened. He has experience in such matters thanks to his time at Ohio State.

Morganton is a town in North Carolina. You are correct in that there isn't much to do there.

IMO they should expel students involved in the widespread vandalism and make them, or their parents, pay for all the destruction they've caused.

I've never understood this kind of behavior. These kids are supposed to be in school to help build our society up, not tear it down. Why should a big win be an excuse for going on a destructive rampage? I just don't get it.

I mean I got plastered plenty of times in Morgantown. I celebrated big victories. Although they were few are far between in my day. I've even burnt a couch. But it smelled awful and was ready for the dumpster at the time. However, the only thing I really destroyed at WVU was my sobriety. I'd drink until I passed out. But I didn't go around trying to tear the city apart.

Yeah I don't know why the students can't just party without destroying and burning stuff. Have fun but there is no need to take it to that level.

WVU isn't alone in this. The Mountaineers just get all the public notoriety.

If you think differently, you should have been in Lexington after Kentucky lost to UConn in the NCAA tourney. But since it's Kentucky, they don't get national coverage on their rioting. Only WVU gets that kind of coverage.

I have no real issue with kids burning old crappy couches, it's the flipping of cars, tearing down stop signs and destroying others property that gets me.
