I can only hope the Cajuns perform as well on the field this week as last. As one poster pointed out, the loss of Jamal Robinson is big, but then, that's football.
Robinson played only 4 or five plays last week before he went down. The offense seemed to figure things out without him last time.
It does look like last weeks picks all over again.

I don't know, if you guys had lost to Texas State, I honestly think there would be some blowout predictions on this thread. Instead, its mostly 3-7 point games.

4-5 plays...but difference is Texas state had to game plan for him. In 2nd half when Texas state was able to make major game plan adjustments ULL had 1 big play and 2 FG...without Jamal your passing attack loses it's bite. Without bite teams sell out to stop the run.
Broadway, McGuire and Harris will be a handful without Robinson. But the difference is that handful is more manageable.

It think its a bigger help for us than Texas State because we've got small speedy corners who have proven susceptible against Tall Wide Receivers. Taking Robinson out could help allow us to play straight man on the Wide Receivers and use the safeties for run support. We were going to try that approach anyway, but Robinson makes 1 or 2 big plays and we're out of it, and facing the wrath of Elijah McGuire.
Ultimately that's the key, can we play man up out wide and commit the players necessary to slow down the Cajuns rushing attack, and force Broadway to pass.

I think you give us too much credit. The second half production for the Cajuns went down because, frankly... They didn't need to have big plays. They changed their offense to what I call the "mercy" offense. Not trying to run up the score, high percentage, short yardage gain plays.

Now if only Fran would stop playing that type of offense (mercy) right out of the gate we might be able to do something.

Play calling had a lot to do with big plays in the second half and starters at QB/RB leaving the field with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

We shall see I guess..both team are a bit unpredictable right now as to if they "bring it"

Hud has a great deal of respect for Fran and we did, what a lot of good coaches do when we got up big, he backed off and ran the clock. It was nice to see that level of respect. Don't think that will happen if the same situation arises with UL Monroe.

He runs the mercy offense in the first half, then the prevent offense in the second half.
REGARDLESS of the score.

Hopefully ULM gets it back going this week. We had 11 playerss hurt (yep, 11). The bye week could not have come at a better time, as supposedly we will have all 11 back. That should make the difference being at home where we are undefeated this year.

Arkansas State at Louisiana Lafayette: The age old debate of size vs speed comes to a head in Cajun Country tonight as the Red Wolves DLine, average weight 250 pounds, goes against the Cajuns 300 plus pound behemoths on the OL. This game is hard to call. The key matchup here is can the Red Wolves top ranked rush defense in the SBC handle an attack that is going to run right at them? Ultimately, that will likely decide the game. stAte 27 Cajuns 24

I feel most underestimate the Cajuns speed. We just reconfigured our defense and dropped a few more fast guys ("Playmakers") into the mix of 11. Yes we are a big, strong team, but we still have elusiveness.
Ground and pound to start the game with Bway, Eli, & Harris. The passing game will open up....that's football.
