I see this is just like our time in the Southland... Women's Sports kick ass, win overall and men's sports bring down the average.

That is why I like to post this. Among other reasons, it gets people talking about the Olympic sports a bit.

McLeansville, can I make a suggestion? Can you put the total points column at the beginning after the school name and have it sorted by total points? That means more to me than sorting through it myself to determine how each program is doing in comparison to the others. That's what the Bubas Cup is after all, an award for top overall athletic program. I access the board 90% of the time from my phone, so finding and hitting the total points column twice to sort it the way I want to view it isn't as easy as if I were on a PC.

Other than football, we haven't hit any other men's sports yet. Our T&F, MGolf and baseball haven't kicked in. I think we'll hold our own there. We did well in all of them last year. (note I didn't mention basketball)

We'll be up there in both indoor and outdoor T&F. Not sure about Xcountry but coach Boone is bringing those programs back.
2014 Indoor
Men 3rd, Women 2nd
2014 Outdoor
Men 4th, Women 3rd

With WKU moving on I see us finishing higher this year in both; unless the new kids on the block have better programs than I'm aware of.

It seems that App has a very good track and field program. But I can't remember for sure.

Yeah, we're pretty good in track. We have a 25,000 seat stadium for them. 03-banghead

Generally we were 1st or 2nd in Indoor and Outdoor T&F in the SoCon. Samford started giving us a run for our money the last two years. OUt XC is generally good as well. I don't know how times and heights and distances compare between SoCon and SB athletes. Generally I would expect the SB to be slightly faster but enough to make any real difference in the move for us. I have no idea. I am guessing and hoping the coaches have looked at times and records to see how we can match up.

To be fair one reason we have been dominate in SoCon T&F is that we were one of the few schools that would send a full team to compete. That is not to take away from the accomplishments but that is part of the story from what I have read/been told by others.

Do most SB schools send a full team or just athletes scattered in a variety of events?

How dare you make a suggestion to the great and powerful MAF!

Just kidding. I can change around the column to at least place the most important number by the school name. Which would be better Bubas Points then school as the 2nd column or school then points as a the 2nd column?

This is my cell phone model (I am not joking) http://www.ebay.com/itm/AT-T-Pre-Paid-Mo...43cc04512d) so I don't do the mobile stuff much and don't think about what would look better for phone use, though you raise an excellent point.

I started doing some of this to learn about Google Docs. I still don't know how to sort and keep all the row data tied together. I know this is an option in MS Excel, but I can't figure this out in Google Docs. If anyone knows how to sort and keep a column tied together let me know.

I will go ahead and put the numbers after the school but let me know what works best. I am to please. I just appreciate others enjoying the Bubas Cup weekly updates enough to care.

I did add another sheet of just schools and total points. I still can't sort but this sheet is only two columns. That might be helpful in certain instances.

And if someone wants to help keep this updated I can give edit privileges.

Putting the total points first or second is up to you. I think the Sun Belt lists school first then points. Either way works for me. I think it will help the readers with readability and if we sort it based on total points it will make more sense since we are accustomed to seeing it in that format. I JUST figured out today that USA isn't at the bottom of the rankings!

I have tried all sorts of things and I can not get a proper sort. Sometimes it sorts some of the numbers and other times it sorts nothing. Odd.

Here is what I did. I made a second sheet "Schools and Total Points Only." Get to that sheet and I do have two columns - School and total points. I did a manual sort and cut and pasted names and numbers. It works but not as elegant as possible. Let me know what you think and if that is better to read on a small screen.

TXST is alone in 2nd in the conference in soccer @ 5-2. Then 3 (App, GS, Troy) teams at 4-3.

Two games left for TXST, GS and GSU.

All that matters is conference record, overall W-L is not used. And for conference play it is not record but points earned. 3 for a win and 1 for a tie. I ranked based on the points. I assume I am doing this in the same manner the SB will do at the end of the season.

So GS is 4-3. 4X3 is 12
TXST is 5-2. 5X3 is 15
Unless I'm mistaken, 15 is more than 12.
I'll recheck when I get home.

Lafayette is misspelled.

Or you could just leave it off.

I may have made a mistake or maybe TxSt had a game that was not in the standings when I updated Sunday morning. Either one is possible. I don't update every day, though I will update this now since I opened up the file and the SB standings for WSOC.

Thanks, I had not noticed that yet of course. SB still has ULL listed with Lafayette in the name, and not that I am beholden to what they do I find it easier for my eyes to include Lafayette. I hope that does not offend those that follow the school.
