Some of all of it.

We only passed in obvious passing situations, all game.

But in the 1st half, why pass when you can run ?

We regained the the lead in the 3rd and had a strong chance to salt the game away with more continued running. We ran Howard out of gas IMHO.

We also had untimely penalties. How many times did we go from 3rd and short to 3rd and medium or long? You can be a little aggressive on 3rd and 2. The defense pretty much knows what's coming on 3rd and 7.

Clements showed he can throw a deep ball on that play to staples. There is no consistency with it though, as the int showed.

Agreed.

RE: Play calling was terrible
I'd still like to see the OC at Jax St run our offense, but at the end of the day the penalties cost us this game. The moment I knew we would probably lose this game is when we started the 4th quarter in the wildcat and Jordan sat back there waiting on the moon to come up before he called for the snap. We are an FN tempo team. I'd yell at him for the rest of the season. Snap the ball a$$hole.

RE: Play calling was terrible
... short yardage becoming long yardage because of a penalty (we had 10 of 'em)
... interception over the middle shouldn't have been thrown - he double clutched before he threw it and you don't throw late over the middle,
...Cody needed only look the safety off on the second interception and it would have been 6; Cody watched him the whole way and the safety simply followed Cody's eyes. Backman was running a route in front of him and if Cody would have looked at Backman before the throw the safety(their best DB) would not have made the play.
...as we have determined we need more speed in the secondary. Once an offensive player gets going we cannot catch him..
...defenses are getting very physical with our WRs. We have to break thru that.

Clements is a good short passer but he can't hit the open receivers past 12 yards.

RE: Play calling was terrible
They brought good pressure up the middle and made Cody rush his throws. Our o-line was whipped a time or three. He can hit a wide open receiver if he has time. One of the pics the ball came out funny. Looked like his arm was hit when he threw.

yes they did get physical with our receives and couple that with the pressure up front is why we had a mediocre day passing. All of it fixable.

Really miss that Duckworth kid he had some snaps available. McNeal probably was our scat back but he's in Cali. We got Kirk I think but maybe he's still banged up.

Way to many wasted drives. By the time we did have to throw, we were all out of sorts. Of course, we had plenty of penalties, interceptions, etc. Still happy with the team as compared to last season, just really didn't understand our stuberness to stay with the run forever.

I don't think play calling was the problem. Execution got us.

I think our OC is doing a great job.

I think the wind affected play calling. Clements doesn't have the pure arm strength that Briscoe has.
