I've always found the madness event boring. Sounds like this year was even worse.

Do you just love taking shots at attendance and spreading bad news about the football team?

What have I said that was wrong?

RE: Memphis Madness Thread
My initial thought: Maybe its the opposite. That certain people and families 'stayed' away when they heard who the guest entertainer was going to be. Usually the entertainer is a surprise and its not official and most fans don't know for certain one way or the other but this year it was announced who was going to be there. I remember when Yo Gotti was there and whole families walked out of building

We're not a national fanbase, no. That doesn't diminish our fanbase here in the city. And no, we don't all know that they invent 4k people every game.

If they want to pack the house, make it free and don't invite a rapper. Otherwise this is what you get: less than 10K fans. If the recruits love rappers so much, give them tickets to a Rick Ross concert.

Sports fans around Memphis can be a tough sell. It's either one end or the other. Rick Ross or Little Jimmy Dickens. Nothing in between would be good enough.

It looked like it was another BORING Memphis Madness... I stopped going like 3 years ago... ESPN has stopped coming to Memphis Madness, too... Losing bad in the Tourney doesn't do us any favors either.

It's a pep rally. I'll get worried if only 10k show for a conference match

Surprising that the attendance subterfuge still works to some degree

None of should complain about attendance if we skipped the event because we are part of the problem.

RE: Memphis Madness Thread
I'm not concerned about what goes on during Madness. The propaganda spread by the local and national media is that this team will not be good since losing the 4 senior guards. It is presumed that if Pastner couldn't get it done with the guards that everyone seemed to think were all-american caliber that this team with suck with jucos and transfers and first year players. IMO we will be better because contrary to some, i believe the talent is better. We shall see. Now do well this year, make a deep run in the tourney and then we will truly see what Madness really means. Not to much of anything.

I was waiting for someone to comment about the team. Did they even show up for Madness?

Talent is better? Under what measure do you say that?
