Uvakeious McGhee became the second Troy commitment to flip to South Alabama in the past week, joining safety JarMarkus Sims.

McGhee, a 6-3, 230lb linebacker from Montgomery, quickly made the move to USA after being advised by outgoing Troy coach Larry Blakeney to examine his options.

This (USA) is the only school I have a relationship with the head guy in charge," he said. "I talk to him more then I talk to my position coach. Plus I want to be close to home."

McGhee said he can play either outside linebacker or defensive end at the next level. "I can do both with ease."

With a new staff coming to Troy in a the next few months, McGhee may get approached by the new staff there. Will he be tempted to return to the Trojan fold? "I still have an offer there," he said. "I never lost it. I'm coming to South."

This makes me think they would want to name a new coach before the season ends in order to give the new coach the most time to build relationships and recruit.

Agreed. However, making sure not to hire just for the sake of hiring. It's too important!!
