Today it is, but who knows where payments will be in 2024. Wouldn't surprise me to see them be over 2 million by then.

Still a lot better than taking a 1 and done IMO.

Like we did...03-puke I'd much rather host UF and take two trips down there for 1.2m.

Damn, that seems crazy getting football schedules lined up 10 years in the future.

But way better than what most thoughts of at the beginning that it was a simple 2-1 with no extra pay.

So much for the 'the P5 won't play the G5'. Glad to see that nonsense is over.

Doesn't matter what happens to the B12 or what UT decides to do later on, still gonna be a darn good series.

Definitely better than a 1 and done. The fact that they're getting 7 figures and a home game out of the deal is remarkable.

RE: USF vs Texas series confirmed
Here are some quotes from their message board when UCF announced a 2 for 1 with Texas. They've changed their tune a lot now that they signed the same exact deal.

http://thebullspen.com/topic/27074-texas-vs-ucf-series/

Quote: Texas came to USF FIRST.  They wanted a 1 for 2 (one here 2 at Texas).  The USF athletic director said home and home or nothing.

I say good for us, with teams like Auburn, Miami and other BCS schools willing to schedule 1 for 1's we don't need that kind of deal.

Quote:USF doesn't take 2 for 1 contracts, and that's the fact, Jack.  So, if they did approach us, we'd have turned it down.

Quote: I think that after this whole 4 year debocle we signed with UCF we should offer them a 2-1 or 5-2 or something.  Prove to them that we're better.

Never get anything other than a one and done with UF. They rarely leave the Swamp for OOC games except FSU. They damn sure are not coming to Greenville in a 50k seat stadium despite how much we want them to. USF has Florida and a NFL Stadium to market in a 2-1 deal.

Any series is a good one if they visit even once. Texas was a fun away game because Austin is fun and the BBQ is great. I must say that our seats were the worst seats I have ever had for a college football game. Up high facing perpendicular to the field behind the end zone. Just awful. 100,000 fans are too many really.

Things have changed. We were A) winning, B) in a BCS conference, and C) had yet to be demoted. We didn't sign 2-1 or 1-0 deals (except for Florida and Notre Dame) when in a BCS conference. Unfortunately things have now changed and this was probably the best deal we could get. I am probably in the minority, but I am not crazy about signing a 2-1. Don't like it.
