USA Todays composite has them at #98, and watching them Tuesday even that might be a little high. IMO the only thing you could tell for sure was they are not very good, and TxSt is even worse.

GaSo is at #81, and A-State # 58, in their composite rankings.

I'm just curious what the Cajuns did so bad Tuesday night?. Was it the 528 yrds of total offense without our best receiver, Jamal Robinson, getting hurt on the 4th play or was it the Cajun defense holding TXST to 94 yrds rushing. Just wondering what was so bad, I know we still have improving to do, no doubt. That's when the coaches make their money by putting the players in best positions to be successful. They moved the defense around plus our best linebacker is back. Also, our best receiver was back for 4 plays of the game.

these rankings are from before the TXST game.... Hence why I said you guys were ranked too high. Next week's poll will reflect your Tuesday game.

I was responding to Seminole Indian saying that the Cajuns looked bad and TXST even worse. I was asking him what the Cajuns did to look so bad.

Couldn't the Cajun defense have something to do with TXST looking so bad. They didn't look bad against Illinois, not that illinois is great but they should've won that game.

I thought against TXST was the first time we had a balanced attack now that Broadway realizes that not only Jamal Robinson, his favorite receiver because he can just throw the ball in his vicinity and he would catch it, no accuracy required, is the only one who can catch. Now he knows he has to be accurate since Jamal is out for the season.

If I was our coach, I would have Broadway, Elijah McGuire, and Alonzo Harris in at the same time. That would give a defense something to think about since Elijah can catch too.

In one of my earlier post, I was saying how GS is representing the SBC well in their first year and how they were close to being undefeated overall with a 1 point loss to NCST, which they should have won, and a 4 point loss to Georgia Tech.

The addition of GS and Appalachian St. makes the Sun Belt fun again in football. it's too bad there's not enough games for everyone to play each other.

We need to add another team so that the champion is determined on the field and not by having a favorable schedule. Until then, someone will always have an easier connference schedule.

I know alot of people dislike the Cajuns but what most don't realize is that we've had terrible coaches and haven't been successful in the Sun Belt in football until the past 3 yrs.

It's nice to have a team that's fun to watch and don't blow games. We are finally putting money into coaching and all facilities ever since the President we had for 30yrs retired. He did a good job of getting the academics where they needed to be but we had the lowest paid coaches in the Sun Belt.

We are enjoying the sucess while we are having it. The last time we had sucess was in the 90s when we were in the Big West with Ark. St. We were in the Big West for 3 yrs in which we were conference co-champs 2 out of the 3 yrs. when we had Jake Delhomme, former Carolina Panther QB and Super Bowl runner ups, as our QB.

So it's been a long time since we got to enjoy watching a team worth watching. I know some fans on here might be cocky but most Cajun fans are humble and just enjoying the ride. You'll meet alot of people at our games tailgating who will give you all the good food you can eat and all the beer you can drink.

I just don't want the new teams in the conference to have a bad impression of Cajun fans just because of ones you might meet on these message boards.

We played our first bowl game in the modern era at Cajun Field. May have lost, but I'll always remember Lafayette for that.

I think you and a few other Cajun fans spend entirely too much time worrying about what a selective group of Sun Belt fans think about your program. Who cares what a the new schools fans think? Most people that have traveled to Lafayette to watch a game know Cajun fans are always welcoming and have the best tailgating experience in the Sun Belt period. If you visit some of their boards, you will find many of them saying similar or far worse things then Cajun fans say on this board about your program. A large number of UL diehards do not visit this board and could care less about embracing the current lineup in the SBC. But it certainly doesn't mean they will not treat visitors to Cajun Field well. Don't get caught up in what the mighty mental midgets think of our program, until they win championships in the Sun Belt, they've not earned any respect period.

Think it very reasonable for fans to get hyped about their teams after several years of great football.
It's a great feeling. Like being on drugs. Most fans think once done it's going to go on forever. Seldom does.
The downside is the eventual realization that a program isn't as strong as it once was, and has to do some things
to try to get it back. Main thing is enjoy it while you can.

Hi IC. I became a member on this board after we officially became a member of the SBC. I will admit that I've met my fair share of arrogant UL fans here before the season started. However, they became silent when their season didn't start out as well as they anticipated. On the other hand, plenty of arrogant fans from our team filled in so we became/have become as bad as UL's fans. I love the stepped-up competition and actually feel good about our conference mates. I just wish we were all playing at a higher level. If we can keep this conference together, we really have a good base to work with and improve. With so much current power and latent potential, we can make a lot of noise in, say two to three years? I'm excited about this conference and hope everyone is happy with the current composition, if not the performance. The performance will come soon.

Even the Crimson Tide had over a decade of average to bad Football. It runs in cycles everywhere. The tricky thing is to keep the down cycles as short as possible

What did you do that was so bad? You beat up on a bad team like some bully would an elementary kid. Just say that you got a win and let it go.
