Like I said, get a dictionary. I'm not debating what other schools do. There's nothing unfortunate about what UC reports because there isn't any ambiguity in the word.

Like I said, get a clue. UC can take their moral high ground and count the turnstile. They might want to take a page out of Pitt or Miami(fl) book.

To what benefit? It's an embarrassment, and I'd say the same about you for supporting the idea.

Tickets, parking, concessions, etc. Take it a step further and show me actual EBIT and cash flow per game. I'm a money nerd though.

Attendance doesn't need qualified unless you're bullshitting people. The number reported in the paper or at the game isn't for the bean counters.

Those beans are pretty important, without them, you have no program.

Are you trying to imply that the bean counters who work for UC get their information second hand?

It's pretty naive to think this practice would fool anyone of importance with regard to conference affiliation.

RE: Doc: Tommy Tuberville Deserves Time
I think it's time UC reports tickets sold vs butt in seats too. Although in UC's case I don't think it will be as big a difference (most games) as compared to Miami or Pitt etc. I've seen Miami games that say attendance was 44,000 and you look and you know there isn't 15,000 butts in seats. But it would help in a year that we are down and people have already bought tickets or on a really crappy weather day. If the tickets have been sold and revenue has been collected I don't see what the problem is. People rip UC for attendance. Our attendance isn't as bad as people think it is from what I can see. But being that as it may, people get this notion from reading the attendance figure in the box score. If all we have to do to make it look better is report tickets sold vs butts in seats I'm down with that.

Maybe those are mine. I've called twice and both times they said they were sending them, and I don't have them yet.

I'll call again this week I guess.

Love it but see the unspoken message in the wave of surprise free tickets hitting mailboxes for that game. Not sure its such a good one.

RE: Doc: Tommy Tuberville Deserves Time
Every season ticket holder had the opportunity to ask for and receive two extra tickets to a game this year. The purpose was two fold; One to award customers with extra tickets as a concession for the disruption for moving the games to PBS. And two, they were hoping that said season ticket holder would bring a new prospect of potential customers to buy season tickets or even single game tickets for the rest of the games this year and on into next year.

With all the extra seats this year, I think it was a good move to expose your product and game day experience to your target market.

I don't think anyone's doubting any of that. What's happened, though, is that they've now sent 2 pairs of tickets to folks.

So while it started as just 2 extra tickets, it's turned into 4 extra tickets. Quite the bonus for those who will attend and bring someone (like me). Not a good sign for overall ticket sales, though, since I'm guessing the original plan wasn't to send out 4 tickets.
