Every season ticket holder had the opportunity to ask for and receive two extra tickets to a game this year. The purpose was two fold; One to award customers with extra tickets as a concession for the disruption for moving the games to PBS. And two, they were hoping that said season ticket holder would bring a new prospect of potential customers to buy season tickets or even single game tickets for the rest of the games this year and on into next year.

With all the extra seats this year, I think it was a good move to expose your product and game day experience to your target market.

I don't think anyone's doubting any of that. What's happened, though, is that they've now sent 2 pairs of tickets to folks.

So while it started as just 2 extra tickets, it's turned into 4 extra tickets. Quite the bonus for those who will attend and bring someone (like me). Not a good sign for overall ticket sales, though, since I'm guessing the original plan wasn't to send out 4 tickets.

I thought it was two extra club seats for football season ticket holders and another two for basketball season ticket holders. We received two for Miami and two for Houston.

Perhaps that is it. Dunno. The week after one of the worst stretches of UC football in a looong time, people are getting free tix in the mail for the last game of the season and don't know why. Which is unique.

And to T-Shirt, relax. Quit setting your phasers to derf.

If you look at the breakdown of signing days since 2011, you can see how we got where we are:
2011: Signed 6 DL (5 DE, 1 DT) and 3 OL - Results: 2 DE left team, 1 DE moved to OL (West), so 2 DE, 1 DT and 4 OL.
2012: Signed 3 DL (2 DE, 1 DT) and 4 OL - Results: 2 DE left team, 1 DT (Pace) and 3 OL (Leahy, Williamson, Bond) still with team - all starters.
2013: Signed 4 DL (4 DE, 0 DT) and 2 OL - Results: All still with team, 1 DE moved to OL (Cunningham), Lost 1 OL (Flick) so 3 DE and 2 OL.
2014: Signed 7 DL (2 DE, 5 DT) and 3 OL - Results: All still with team.

So the three classes prior to 2014 signings, we got 6 DE, 2 DTs and 9 OL. Barely enough for starters on a 4-3 defense. This is what CTT is talking about improving depth, which based on what he signed for 2014, I think we are looking good for next year.

1, 1, 0 at DT is ridiculous. Football is a game that is won and lost up front. I know it's not a sexy position, but after QB there's nothing more important than DL and OL.
