This is what happens when a long progression of leftists have influence. You get a dumbed down populace from public education, news media that is more fiction than fact, resulting in low information voters who will put an obviously inept puppet in office.

Kind of odd that the CDC moved the 2nd health care worker to Atlanta, near their HQ,
but not the first. Maybe they are just spreading things out, or are working on something.

I thought I read something about the severity of the case. The more severe the closer they want them to the CDC and the doctors at Emory.

I think it's a good move by the CDC. Obviously, not all hospitals in the US are trained to deal with ebola.

Hospital notified the CDC they are not sure if they will be able to treat both patients. They are in a mess of trouble with the Nurse's union for failing to educate staff on Ebola, they are worried people will leave rather than work the case out of fear.

I didn't even think they had unions down there? They actually have a nurses union?????

Second.

Can we please drop the blame game for just a week???? Let's get through this actual crisis first?

Is that too much to ask?

I think its the national Nurse's union. Texas is right to work, but that doesn't mean you cant join a Union, nor does it mean that you cant have local Unions. Right to work means they cant force you to join the union.

I know in Arkansas if you join a place with a union, you don't have to join that union, but you better sure as hell understand when it comes time to lay someone off...the one's without the union are the first one's to go.

I have to agree with Mach on this. We can take politics out of this completely. I doubt Ebola will be voting either way this November.

This is a result of the 'shrinking world'. Air travel was bound to be exploited by somebody running from a disease, seeking treatment, or a more deliberate attempt to spread a disease (bio-warfare) sooner or later.

I think it was a terrible idea to bring the two infected American aid workers back. I think it has been a terrible idea to allow entry into the country to individuals from west Africa with little more than checking their temperature and asking them a few questions. It might be considered cruel or unnecessary, or even racist by some, but if I had any authority I would absolutely shut down commercial travel to west Africa. I'd mandate quarantine for aid workers returning from west Africa. I would isolate everybody in Dallas that has been exposed or treated the sick for well more than 21 days. A state of emergency? Absolutely. An over-reaction? Doubtful, but I would be ok being criticized for over-reacting.

The rest of the world should be considering itself lucky that the first patient flew to the US and not somewhere more crowded and with inferior medical facilities. Can you imagine the potential outbreak if he had flown to Beijing? Tokyo? Rio? Mumbai?

Let's get 45-60 days removed from anybody exhibiting symptoms or dying of Ebola before we play the blame game here.

On a scale of 1-10. How worried are you. I'm a 7.

10 Cleveland Clinic nurses were also on that flight. 570 passengers flew on that plane after the nurse. You couldn't write a better start to a horror movie than this. I'm pissed but I want people to come together. We need to start forward thinking policies. I'm also tired of people saying it's only direct contact. That sets in a mindset of complacency.

THIS IS A BIO LEVEL FOUR HAZARD. We are not treating it that way and I'm actually appalled att some of the things I'm reading and watching. People are misinformed and under educated. Be vigilant and if another case pops up in Ohio start to worry.

6-7. If Dallas gets contained and goes through Thanksgiving with no more diagnosed cases, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

The difference maker is this nurse that got on a plane. All it will take is a handful of cases spread throughout the country to cause full on panic and a serious problem.

At the first diagnosis outside of Dallas my worry level increases to 9.

Here is a question... does the President officially have the power to implement what some of you are asking according to the constitution? Does he have the power to tell the CDC how to treat diseases? Honest question... I'm not positive he has the authority to do any of this.

I look at it this way.. we've had one aid worker with it end up in Nebraska and they quarantined it and no issues resulted from it. So I'm not worried about that, unless some hospital farks up and lets it loose elsewhere.

So I'll put myself at a worry level of 5 (would that be Yellow on the Terrorist color chart?)

He can tell the CDC to make changes (Which he has) and he can ask for updates, but unless Obama plans on researching the virus himself, (please don't) He cant do much to the CDC. He could probably fire someone, but that would probably cause mass panic.

We could close borders to West Africa...sure. But that's not exactly easy to do. It makes bringing aid workers back problematic, and makes sending troops to combat the virus spread near impossible. If we want to stop Ebola, it has to be stopped in West Africa, that much has been made clear by all the major health organizations.
