Excellent!!!
Events like this are valuable because fans can actually observe the new players play so instead of debating the number of stars, prep write-ups, etc. etc. fans get to see for themselves.
More importantly, instead of guessing which position a player will play (just because he played it in high school), how big a player is (or is not according to some write-up which often aren't accurate) we can ascertain for ourselves.
Kind of like reality check.
And, no, Dennis, no recruits. This is a mid-week practice for the players.

BTW, the team photo is up and this team has some serious height up front.
Ward, whom I don't consider short, looks short compared to the other front court players. Samuels has a few inches on Ajayi. Nobles is taller then I thought.
This is a Murphy team: Very long up front. Murphy doesn't recruit 6' 5" 250 PFs (think Kareem Carpenter from 20 years ago). He looks those 6' 8 or 9" guys up front who can close out/disrupt the outside shooters.
Looks like Price added some weight I think his weight last year was like 162 and now its 180.
There appears to be two extra on the team picture that aren't accounted for. I believe these are the gentlemen on Murphy's side of the photograph. Any clues? Grad assistants?

I'm relooking at the photo to see who might be taller then they appear in the photo.
Tim Bond looks like he is slouched or something. He seems to have legs all over the place in the photo. (looks like me when I'm getting my hair cut. All legs and no trunk. )
Also, Ward, looks like he might be slouching also. Hard to say from the photo. Hunter too????
Have to compare to KPJ's avatar.
Look at Bond compared to say MT III. Bond is a whole head taller. Or compare him to Alvano. (on the avatar).
Could you imagine Bond, Price in the back court together with the serious height up front? :)

all kinds of size on this team. there are 5 guys bigger than coach Mondro, and he's a beast. I've got to get to Rock the Rec. If they aren't letting non-students in, i'll have to get Superfan to sneak me in. Super, you with me?
i'm thinking some overly optimistic, Pudge-like thoughts right now (where has he been, anyway? i miss him). i really like this team for this year, and i think we're set up nicely for next season. we'll only lose two high-contributor seniors. granted, they might be our two best players, but still, lots of guys available to step up next season.
