Are cable and sat. the only places to get these channels?

I have a history channel app on my Xbox and FireTV. I can usually watch old seasons for free.

Since there is nothing on history channel that I really care to watch as soon as it is released, I don't mind.

Haven't seen food network, but I get a cooking channel OTA, so I don't really miss food network. I don't have kids, so Disney Channel isn't important to me.

CBS cutting the cord too, offering streaming service

Cliff notes:

- $5.99/mo
- Stream old shows & new ones (new ones the day after air date)
- Stream from about 14 different markets
- But live-streaming of sporting events, including NFL coverage, is not available.

That last one is a deal killer. I really do not see the appeal if you cannot stream sports. Especially since most people can get a local affiliate OTA for free.

Yeah, we watch a lot of kids/family programs that would make cord cutting just not feasible at this time, but I can't wait until it is all a' la' carte.

The big question for me is how do all you cord cutters watch CUSA games? The only reason I have cable is for FOX Sports 1, MASN2 and the Sinclair channel so I can watch CUSA games.

Most of UAB's games have been on ASN, which are carried on over-the-air channels 21, 68-1, and 68-2 (all digital HD) in B'ham.

For the SEC Network game next week vs Ark. I will be hitting up a sports bar.
