QB Play
Cody Clements has moved up to the 4th highest rated QB in CUSA currently. Our 2 last games will be in the top 10 best QB games played to date for CUSA

@WKU - #4 - 91.5 QBR rating
UNT - #8-10 (once ESPN updates) - 87.1 QBR rating
39-47, 616 yards passing, 35 yards rushing, 4 TD, 1 int in the past 2 games.

Hopefully he can keep this up 03-razz.

RE: QB Play
Hopefully he will against MTSU. Their defense is not that good. Probably on par with Western Kentucky.

RE: QB Play
He's showing growth, as he is six games into it. Not making stupid mistakes like games past. Can say he's a redshirt junior now in terms of experience. A great competitor that needs to learn how to slide but I think he loves the contact. The best thing he has going for him is the experienced skill guys and line to make it easier. Probably more comfortable with the playbook and how it fits his abilities also. Teams are loading up the box as our rushing numbers are dropping some, some huge runs called back also. Soon he will have to will us to a win to see what we have.

Their offense is a bit more balanced, though. They'll try to run and keep the ball away from him.

All he will do this week is hand off. We will not throw a pass. Really, not one. 05-stirthepot

How will we throw a pick 6 like last year if we don't throw at least one pass?

RE: QB Play
I don't think anyone will disagree that our qb play, from both QBs going into our game last year with mtsu, was terrible. Had no problem not throwing a pass the whole game. The first pass we attempted on a first down against them was a pick 6. I remembered saying why can't we just stick with the run game.........

It's not far-fetched to say we have the best qb in the state right now as well.

That's a bit far fetched in my opinion.

I'd take johnson in a heartbeat.(no offense to Clements)

I can agree with that if Johnson were getting PT.

RE: QB Play
I don't care what kind of pt he is getting now. What I saw from him is a guy who can get the ball to his playmakers anywhere on the field. If Auburn wasn't so great last year, I think he'd be their starter.

RE: QB Play
Clements is the best passing QB that is seeing regular playing time in the state right now IMO.

Sims is really good. Especially at throwing the ball to the sideline behind the line of scrimmage. Then Cooper builds up Sims stats.

I liked the part when he jumped straight up for the QB sneak.

RE: QB Play
LOL

Jeremy may be the best QB in the state. (wish they would have let him play until he lost the job this year.) Clements could be the best if he keeps doing what he has been doing the last two weeks. Or something close. He has not been really terrible this year. I will not crown him until the end of the year. I remember watching Jeremy at Carver, and he had a bad attitude when things didn't go his way, or went wrong. Kind of like when CAM would throw a towel over his head on the sidelines when things would not go his way and they jumped on him for it. Maybe he's grown out of it, I don't know.

RE: QB Play
I said this in another derailed thread. Hackney is arguably the best qb in UAB history and CC is putting up better numbers than Hack through the first six games by each. Let that sink in for a minute.
