New Jordan Lynch Tryout

His only hope is to bulk up and play fullback. Or park district flag football.

They've been (NFLers) talking about the possibility of him being a safety since Pro Day.

Take off you NIU goggles. The guy isn't good enough. If he makes a practice squad that would be amazing. If he makes a roster that would be a miracle.

New Jordan Lynch Tryout
Knowing Lynch, if I were going to create a football team, he'd be the first player I'd take. The kid has talent, drive, ambition, guts, and a work ethic that's second to none.

I'd take Aaron Rodgers.

I'd probably choose Aaron Rodgers.

Drive, ambition, guts, don't really count for anything. Work ethic is good, but if you don't have enough talent your work ethic can only take you so far.

He had a shot, didn't show enough to warrant a practice squad.

Apparently he is getting a second shot, probably won't be good enough again.

RE: New Jordan Lynch Tryout
For the CFL to work out he needs to be committed from Day 1 of training camp. Their season starts in June so he has to leave this NFL dream behind for the CFL to work. Even then he's not guaranteed to be a starter over there, no matter what position he plays. It's a big sacrifice to make, that's why I don't think it will work.

I mean a shot to earn a spot, he didn't get that with the Bears.

Sure he did. If he was better than Ka'Deem Carey or Senorise Perry in practice he'd be on the team. He obviously did not perform well enough in training camp. UDFAs only get so many chances to show what they've got. He wasn't a 3rd round draft pick like you are making him out to be.

If Jordan Lynch played for the Illini would you have this same stance?

You seem to follow college football and the Big Ten pretty closely. If someone asked you, you wouldn't have an opinion?

RE: New Jordan Lynch Tryout
Maybe the NFL was just too big for Lynch.

His track record on the biggest stages in college football, wasn't exactly good.

He had a 45% completion percentage, equal touchdowns and interceptions and couldn't run worth a damn in his two bowl games.

Great NIU player, but not exactly pro material.

Fanboy or not, you've got to look at the guys track record, being told NO isn't in his lexicon. Do I think he's the next Brady or Rodgers? Absolutely not. But he might be the next Danny Woodhead. But Lynch is an athlete. I don't think resigning himself to the CFL is his best option. Heck, Chad Spann is still working his tail off to get into the NFL and I know Lynch has more talent than him.
