RE: SBR: Bama to play MTSU in 2015
As I recall the NCAA rules on "official recruiting visits", a school can't "officially" invite recruits to any stadium other than their "home stadium". This (then) new rule was cited when Bama pulled its major "home games" out of Legion Field. UAB would be affected by such a rule if the city built the planned MPF after UAB has built its OCS.
What would be the reaction in Crimson circles if UAB could somehow give the two Mississippi SEC schools $3 million ( the total Bama is providing to the two C-USA programs UAB must play) to improve the competitive status of their programs? ESPECIALLY while they are already beating BOTH Alabama SEC schools?

Four years:
2015 Murfreesboro
2016 Nashville
2017 Murfreesboro
2018 Nashville
I heard there has been chatter of tacking on two more, I'll believe it when I see it.

They've bought out games after losing to us twice before, but this will be their first trip to Murfreesboro, I imagine getting the first one in Murfreesboro was a major priority specifically for that reason.

Yup. If you don't schedule it that way you'll never see them there, so play at your place first or negotiate a truly obscene buyout.

I think you are correct with the 2,000 number. I believe they agreed to the number because all the UT season ticket holders could order at least two tickets. Only about 900 seats in the lower level.

Find / Locate some Titans Club Level season ticket owners. I believe they also get an option to order tickets to our game.

Crap like this irritates me. If we're going to give money to another school, keep that money in-state. As a fan, it irks me, as it should others. As a taxpayer, it is downright outrageous and pisses me off. It definitely should affect others the same way. If they want to continue receiving any funding or support from the state, they need to stop sending millions of dollars to other states.
I don't want to see Bama play MTSU, Southern Miss, or Florida Atlantic. I especially don't want to see them play Western Carolina. Stop the nonsense. IF we are to play these games against what is considered 'lesser' opponents, keep the money in-state. None of it makes any sense to me. Whoever makes these decisions but absolutely refuses to allow us to play against teams like UAB, Troy, USA, Jax State, Samford, etc. needs to disappear.

Back to the thread title, MTSU will also play Vandy and Illinois next year, meaning three of their four non-conference games will be against P5 teams.

So far Auburn has played UAB, Samford, *Alabama A&M, and in 2015 Jacksonville State. I support most instate teams on saturdays. Correction, all but one instate team.
*edit correction
