Very sad story. The one thing I question is why charge him as an adult? He is ten!!!! Tragic on all counts.

It may be that charging the boy as an adult is the only available legal mechanism for keeping him in custody, for the time being. I agree he should not be sentenced as an adult, and I doubt that he will be. But there is obviously something very, very dangerous and disturbed in that child's state of mind. Until local authorities have a clear(er) idea of what that "something" is, I agree he should be kept in custody.

Yea it's a shame. I can't imagine him getting convicted even for a juvenile charge. He obviously needs some psychological help and even some time at a juvenile boot camp to instill some discipline. And truthfully, i wouldn't be the least surprised if there is domestic violence between his parents or he's being abused by one of his parents. Children just don't wig the f*ck out like this.
