CBS Bowl Projections
I don't know about Jerry Palm. He keeps making strange projections and he only shows 5 AAC teams being bowl eligible, but Temple is not one of the teams even though Temple already has 4 wins. He shows Western Michigan in the Liberty Bowl against South Carolina even though the B12 is the primary matchup for the SEC in that game and the AAC has the backup agreement. He shows ECU in the Fiesta bowl, rather than the Peach Bowl and UCLA in the Peach Bowl rather than the Fiesta Bowl. Then the strangest picks of all is that he makes NCSU bowl eligible, even though NCSU has lost 11 straight conference games and they show no signs of life and then he shows UNC in a bowl against UAB, which would require UNC to win 4 of their last 6 games. Knowing UNC they will probably do that, because the back end of their schedule is easy and they ran the table last year in their last 5 games to gain bowl eligibility:

Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma v. ECU
Peach Bowl: Georgia v. UCLA
Armed Forces Bowl: Houston v. Air Force
Belk Bowl: NC State v. Missouri
Liberty Bowl: Western Michigan v. South Carolina
Independence Bowl: UAB v. UNC
Military Bowl: Georgia Tech v. Memphis
Bitcoin Bowl: Miami v. UCF
Miami Bowl: Cincinnati v. BYU

At this point, the Miami Bowl would be fine, but changes have to be made on the defense because, unlike Baylor, UC's offense can't bail out their poor defense every game.

Long way to go, but NCSU has Wake and Syracuse left on the schedule. Unless they fall all the map they'll get to 6 wins. UNC might be improving? but I cannot see 4 more wins on their schedule, but the coastal is a joke so who knows.

Palm is just being a hack. There is no way they send ECU out to the Fiesta and UCLA to Atlanta. Thats. Dumb.

ECU in Fiesta, UCLA in Peach, WMU in Liberty and NCSU in ANY BOWL is stupid. This guy just lost all credibility with me.

How the hell would Liberty fall ALL THE WAY to the MAC?

I would REALLLLY hope Memphis somehow could get that slot before they were shipped to Annapolis.

is teh Orange possible?
I know its probably impossible, but I would love to see the Orange if we got the access bid. By all appearances that would be a better result than in 1991 - would be good to see a bowl that is traditionally a bigger bowl, rather than a great bowl that has grown into a big time bowl.

RE: CBS Bowl Projections
Jerry Palm's projections show such a lack of knowledge of bowl contracts, or such a laziness in reporting, that they really aren't worth discussing.

It is impossible, the Orange is contracted to be ACC vs SEC/B1G/ND. The only way a G5 team will ever play in the Orange, Sugar, or Rose bowls ever again is if they make the playoffs in a year when those bowls are hosting the semifinals.
