Didn't he receive an extension last year or the year before?

Many in their fanbase had been lobbying for this for a while. White found his last straw.

I expect UB to go big. Don't know what 'big' means but they'll want a high profile hire.
Look for UB to break the mold of MAC FB HCs getting say 300 - 500K / season.
I'll bet the new HC gets say 600 - 750K. UB (and other MAC teams) are picking up a lot of cash from MAC TV and CF Playoffs and AD White apparently wants to put a chunk of it into a HC.
I guess the coaching search 'off season' just started in college FB.

I think my immediate goal (baby steps) for EMU is to get to the point where losing to EMU is not tantamount to losing one's job.

This was my initial reaction too. I'm sure there has got to be much more too this story though. Otherwise, yes
... I'm with you.

I hope not. The cost of fotball is out of control.

I wouldn't say decent, but they have some good talent, but should be rolling better. Doing so bad to deserve a firing mid-season? NO, not at all.

LOL. Yeah, it's kind of a slap to Quinn AND EMU.

Yes. I'm sure it wasn't purely by performance. But I think the possibility of having his performance being GOOD this year would make him NOT be kicked out of his job -- it would something to Save him from other problems. Since that's not Shining thru -- they want to go ahead an axe him. And at a good time, because losing to a "bottom of MAC" team will make such a surprise go over Smoother with fans & alumni.
