Very encouraging to hear the comments from you former players. I hope this continues to grow bigger and better every year.

RE: 350 former Tiger football players attended the Houston Game
I got the email notification, but I was unable to make it as I had my grandchild with me over the weekend. Also, my wife was leaving the next morning on a mission trip to Mexico. I was a teammate of TG and I know he is hard to take sometimes, but he was one of the main people that organized this.
Former players have been through a lot with this program and sometimes it is definitely a love hate relationship. Kind of like a girlfriend nobody else thinks is attractive, but you love her and can't look at anybody else.

We shouldn't hate any former players. Once a Tiger always a Tiger.

That dude is sure to bail at the earliest sign of trouble, always has.
Do you still make obscene calls to him from work or did you learn from the lesson he taught you?
Ouch.

It was very well done. I am one of the ones who attended (Scherer era QB/Holder) with my wife. I have season tickets and drive in from Nashville for several games each year as well as a few bball games. I have thought this needed to happen for a long time and was very happy to see several teammates (Powers, Pariamore, Jason Harris, Rashad Bailey, Artis Hicks, Calvin Lewis, Freddie Powel, Brad Britt), among others. The Penny HOF is very nicely done and a great addition to the old AOB. It brought back so many memories of spending time in that building for position meetings, film sessions, etc. Traveling over to South Campus was really nostalgic. It has come a very long way over there guys. I can tell you as someone who spent many countless hours, lifting, running , throwing, and practicing at that facility we would have killed to have had something similar. The weight room is top notch as is the locker room. Having the outdoor turf field would have been a tremendous assets for us back in the day for off season QB/Receiver sessions when the fields were ususally soggy. The new indoor facility will be HUGE for them! Thanks to the staff for hosting a short briefing of the state of the program and a video of upcoming facility impovements as well as the tour. You can tell there is a desire to reconnect with the past.
I can tell you that for the first time since the last day of my senior season in 2000 it began to feel like a family atmosphere. I give all of the credit in the world to those listed in Bert's post for getting this together and I can assure you each and every one of them care given my personal conversations with each on Saturday. I did tell my wife though how nice it would be to have an OCS in order for kids to get to hang on campus on the day of games and to see all of it and take in the facilities, HOF, etc. and create a whole new generation that lives and breathes Tiger athletics. This was a very big day in my opinion for the former players and a huge step in the right direction in getting us back involved in the program. I will definitely be glad to and look forward to participating in assisting to get even more to attend next year.
Glad you got to make it!! Talked to Carey this morning and we hope to make it bigger and better. Suggestions have been made to have the Friday night portion at the HOF or at a Ball Room in the UC to get "back on campus". Hopefully we will have a lot of former Tigers at Homecoming. Bring the kids for trick or treat on Tiger Lane!!!!
Bert, thanks to you and all those who worked with you to get this done. Very important to get our former athletes more involved. Well done - keep up the good work!

RE: 350 former Tiger football players attended the Houston Game
The involvement of former players is important in so many ways. I think our AD understands that and so does his team. Working together, we create a synergy that makes us all more effective because we are working as a team and.....former players understand that better than anyone.
