What did you think of Thompson Square?
When the lady who was doing the sidelines reports for CBS had Thompson Square there for an on camera interview, the reporter said the Memphis tailgate party was one of the BEST tailgating experiences she has ever attended. What did you all think of Thompson Square?

I like a few of their songs and they seem nice enough. As far as pop-country goes they're not the worst.

I chose not to go over to the stage, but rather get back to my Tiger Lane spot. I see these events as trying to attract the younger crowd. Still, I was curious if they drew well over in that parking lot. Did they?

they did. it was a pretty good crowd at the stage. We went for a few minutes, then went back to our tailgating spot. We could actually hear the music better from our spot than at the stage, since the speakers were so loud.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of theirs, but it was entertaining. The wife and her friends had a blast over there. I decided to walk over for a bit to set the setup, crowd, etc. Crowd was decent and the setup was pretty good. It's a pretty cool concept that I hope they continue.

My wife and I really enjoyed the concert and their music. I was impressed with them and the venue.

I missed Thompson Square, but I'll be the front row for the great Brett Michaels. 04-rock COGS

Not a country guy but I listened to a few songs. They were good and I love the free music option while tailgating.

Yeah, agree. They're never gonna get a musical act that makes the majority happy. The important thing is they are making an effort to make the tailgating and game day experience as much fun as it can be. Hard to fault anybody for that.

Yep, MemphIS Music. This was an obviously talented band no matter the genre.

I thought it was great. Liked their music before, but left a much bigger fan. I love that we have an athletic department with vision. These things will grow if supported.

RE: What did you think of Thompson Square?
The Music Series at the Liberty Bowl seems to be popular. Much more thought has gone into it.

I see crowds gathering between the Libery Bowl and the Midsouth Colesieum to listen and a much better stage and better acoustics.

I'm not a country music or pop county music fan at all so I haven't been listening. A change in music and I could see myself walking over and enjoying.

Many just show up for the free concert and then leave.
