RE: Congratulations Marshal! Top 25!
I'm happy for the Herd, too. Come 11/22, the mood will change, but at present, I'm very impressed with Marshall, and so sick of these media morons on Fox Sports 1 and ESPN dismissing their accomplishments, most recently on PTI, I heard Wilbon say something to the effect of Marshall "does not qualify" for the 4 team "playoff" consideration. They're just going to relegate the "have not" conference representatives and continue to wave the banner for this garbage that they call a playoff/national championship. I will go on record as saying that I feel for whoever draws the Thundering Herd in a bowl game this year.

I am considering having Marshall investigated for alleged cloning of Mike Alstott (Devon Johnson, I believe, is the name he goes by?)...#NoFair!!!

That dude is faster than Alstott. Someone that big shouldn't be that quick.

For the older crowd, I think Johnson is more like Riggins.

It's almost heracy to say, but I think Johnson, not Cato, has really been the team MVP this year. Yes, Cato, just got his NCAA record, is managing a top ten offense, creating a career highlight reel through 6 games, and is the 4-year starting senior getting the publicity, etc... But Johnson has added a dimension that has practically made Marshall's offense unstoppable. He powers his way for 4 yards after initial contact. He has breakaway speed. He's almost averaging a first down per carry.

I wouldn't count out Johnson getting some Heisman hype next year if he continues to do what he's doing.

Sweet jesus, that's right. He's a junior. Man, that makes me feel a bit better about next year. Sounds like the RB and WR positions should be solid, even with some departures. The big question next year is if Gunnar can step up to be half of what Cato has been.

I thought we had 3 RS SR at OL? Maybe it was 2 RS SR and 1 RS JR.

We lose Cato, Shuler, two OL and TE. On D we lose 3 DL, 2 LB and 1 CB. All RB's are back and most WR's. QB will be either incoming Freshmen or JMU transfer who looked very solid in fall camp.

Good thing for us is we have depth at every position. LB is incredibly deep.

Yea, there's enough depth with Doc at the helm that I'm not worried about next year, at least from the standpoint of bowl eligibility and contending in CUSA East.

We lose our center (huge deal) and whole left side of the line. We lose our dline too. People seem to always underestimate what an impact that will have on your team. Games are won and lost on the line. Losing Cato is also an obvious huge deal as well. Next year, 8 games and even in the race for a cusa east title is an accomplishment. Back down to earth gentlemen. Enjoy this season

RE: Congratulations Marshall! Top 25!
We rotate 9 on the defensive line this year, Rouse is averaging around 30 snaps a game. We add the UCF transfer kid next year who started for them as a true freshman. We'll be fine, just not as deep. The pain will come from losing Hewitt and Holmes. We will need somebody to step up big at Mike.

Losing Jasperse is as big as losing Cato. Can't underestimate the importance of a smart, 4-year starter at center. He'll end up on a NFL team.

Johnson is a huge mismatch in every game we play this season, especially with the smaller defenses we see anymore. Absolute freak of nature.

Only lose 2 D linemen, Rouse and Blackmon. Not concerned about the D line at all.
