RE: What is McIntosh's status?
Ya know.. The Princeton 3-QBs on the field at the same time system is still an option

Change in position? Change to WR because we are so thin there? Go from being #3 on the QB depth chart to #7-8 on the WR chart. Makes a lot of sense.01-wingedeagle

Agreed. I think we need McIntosh back in the QB mix. He could soon turn out to be our #1 QB and be quite successful. You just know if he gets another chance, he will make the most of it. I would hope he can relax a bit and not feel under the microscope. The last thing our QB needs is to have that hook hanging over his shoulder if he makes a mistake. I'm sure Hare feel that now with Maddie right behind him and breathing down his neck.

I hope you mean for next season. IMO it's down to Maddie or MAC. Don't want to see Hare back out there and I actually was on the Hare bandwagon.

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
I was told from somebody I trust that McIntosh was going through individual drills with the DBs on Saturday before the game.

So, there's that. Would seem to go along with Huskiehog was saying. He played safety in high school.

What is McIntosh's status?
So, we have a viable QB who may now play DB, while we have 2 QBs fighting for mediocrity? I can't believe it.

McIntosh was good enough to start the season. What have Hare and Maddie done to distinguish themselves over McIntosh?

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
The only logical explanation to moving him to DB would be him asking to do it at some point when he got hurt because he thought he would never get on the field again at QB. Durante graduates after this year, so maybe he thought that was his only way on the field? I don't know, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.

I also wasn't there to see it with my own eyes, so the person who told me could be wrong. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for it on Saturday.

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
I agree it would seem very odd. Unless his injury actually had something to do with a hand/arm issue where he wasn't going to be effective at QB this year? or maybe warming up with the DB's was just the best way to keep in shape?

It was a leg injury for sure. Like I've said, he had a sleeve on his leg in the NU game and I could see him noticeably limping after the game.

Now, maybe they had him go through DB drills to test his change of direction? I guess that's possible. A little strange, but not impossible.

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
Not sure where McIntosh fits; is Hare and/or Maddie the answer? Or are they keeping the seat warm for Root? Expect the uncertainty of the QB position to continue; until we decide on an offensive scheme, we will continue to adjust our scheme to the best talent that emerges. This may not be a bad thing; our offensive scheme last year was completely centered around the unique skills sets of Lynch, an approach that worked amazingly well in the MAC. To illustrate the point further, our two 2015 QB recruits cannot be more different. Alec Ingold appears to be a Lynch type player who has impressive running stats, where as Santa's brother, who is rated high by Lemming, is a pro style passer. Man we could use some direction.

He fits in that he's most likely not as terrible as Hare is.

Hare is not good, Maddie is worse, and McIntosh probably a little better than them both, but none of these 3 QBs is the answer. It's Root's job to lose next year you have to think.

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
Having Mac do a Bunch of DB drills and treating satirday like another rehab day isn't a crazy thought.

I could see him and/or Maddie changing positions in the offseason for sure but absolutely no chance it happens in season...that would just be coaching suicide.

RE: What is McIntosh's status?
I was sitting on the bar with the band. I'm not gonna take the time to read this whole thread (sorry, busy busy), but McIntosh was dressed, walking around, and looked like he was walking normally. No hitch to his step or anything (I made sure to watch him as often as possible)

Did Maddie get a real chance? I don't trust the coaches personnel decision making so far.

With the issues the offensive lines seems to be having, and considering NIU would be even more run-reliant with Maddie being such a poor passer, I think the coaching staff knows prolonged Maddie would end very badly.

Are you relying on this year's playing time when you say he is such a poor passer? I think he has looked pretty good passing. Now if you said his decision making is poor, I could agree with you. He needs to learn when to hold onto the ball passing and in the read option.

Show me where he's been "such a poor passer".

MD just keeps repeating shi* thinking everyone is going to accept it must be true. Or he is getting videos together with all of the examples of Maddie's bad passes.
